Home sweet Home

Sorry I haven't been writing - the opportunity (Internet and or computer cocoperating) and the mood (upset disgusted cheerful) haven't meshed to many times in the almost two weeks we've been home. For the last couple of days the Internet seems to be working fine. I unplugged the modem for a whole day and after I plugged it back in it is working fine. In fact bertter than ever....go figure. We've had a couple of powerful storms through here so electrical power has been on and off. And now my desktop computer is developing a mind or maybe I should say a lack of mind of its own. It keeps freezing up - then a few minutes later starts working again. Also my DVD has stopped working and I've got all those pictures from winter I want to put on DVDs. And either the computer or my USB drive is blowing out my thumb drives - lost two in two days. So yesterday we went to town to get me a new computer (this one is about 8 years old) Couldn't find one - had a choice of two in the only place in town that sells them and the one I liked wasn't in stock. Checked at WalMart but all of theirs were either laptops or bundles - Pc with monitor - and I don't want a new monitor. So today if the roads aren't flooded we'll go to the town west of us and see what we can find.
The only thing really bad when we got home was the back up on the laundry room floor and I got that cleaned up right away - the other things were just annoying. I still don't have a shower in my bathroom cause the plumber had to order a part and its not in yet. But I just go upstairs and use The Drivers.
The house cleaning was The Drivers idea - he didn't want to see me work too hard. Even he agrees it turned out to be not a good idea. More agravation than it was worth and I still had a lot to do after they left. Now it is just keeping it up and that is easy with just the two of us. I'll just take it a room or a floor at a time.
Outside - still haven't done much - way to wet. A lot of the plants didn't make it through the winter so have to get rid of them. Then decide what to replace them with. Lost more small branches off the trees last night in the storm that moved through here. A couple times I thought it was going to take the roof!
Any way we are fine - was just bitchin' on my blog - helps me get over it. If you've seen any pictures of our Jeep Willie you know it is distinctive - well as we drive through the neighborhood or town people are waving us over and stopping us asking about our winter. That's a nice part about being in a little town.
In case you are wondering - our friend - the guy who stayed in the house over the winter was just that "a guy." It looked clean to him, he didn't go down to the laundry room that much and when he did he just went to the washer and dryer - the mess was on the other side of the room. He was arranging to have a couple of the plumbing problems fixed - but just didn't get it done. About half way through the winter he rented himself a house in the town where he works so only came up here off and on to check on things. A couple of times during the winter he couldn't even get up to the house the roads were so iced up. So can't really blame him.
We had a good time all winter and managed to drive across the states just before most of these last couple of weeks of storms and fires hit. Still working on emptying and cleaning Jennie - between rains. It's not supposed to rain for a couple of days now. So need to get that done.
Best shut up now and get my shoes on so we can get into town and back before an afternoon soccer game.
