I'M IN LOVE, BUT...

Okay, now that I have your attention. I'm in love, but not with a man    Went to my RV dealers today to have the order some additional cabinet doors and feell head over heels in love with a new TT. A Rockwood Mint Lite 2109S. A little bigger than my 1809S, but it has the perfect floor plan for me.

The exterior is the same as the one I have now except this one has pass through storage, the which of I am lacking on my current TT

But I loved the exterior layout. I does have a smaller wardrobe by the door as compared to mine, but it's sharing space with a little bigger fridge. Bathroom is the same as is the sofa and table area as well as the overhead cabinets. But the bedroom area and kitchen are what turned me on. The queen bed is a walkaround, with wardrobes on both sides and night stands underneath them. There is a window over the bed and on both sides, so plenty of iight. Under the bed in the storage area they put a platform that is up off the floor a bit. Under that platform are three storage drawers accessible from the outside of the bed frame. So not only do you have underbed storage, you also have the storage in the drawers as well. The entertainment center is all in one place with hidden hookups behind a door. The kitchen has two nice sized cabinets over the stove/counter area, I only have one. Also two nice cupboards under the stove/counter area as well as three drawers. And there is additional sink space past the stove area. Plus and extension counter that can be put up if you want. I love it. Woudd be great to winter down south in and use for other things as well.

Sigh, now if I could just sell mine and figurre out how to make up the difference.......

I hope you can swing it too. It is always nice to have a little bit more room.

Can tell you are very excited over this TT. You could trade your other one in on the new one and maybe make small payments??

Good luck

Looks really nice. A ton of space!!

What does it take to tow something like that? You and I talked about trailers, except I don't have a pickup truck.

My last trailer was a 23ft Trail Lite with nearly the same floor plan, but not as nice as this one you just fell in love with. If I my last trailer was like this one I would have kept it and not bought the one I have now. If you have this trailer you will be happy for ever in that layout, I loved my last little one but it wasn't quite as good a layout as this one. I miss the window at the head of the bed. That to me is a really big deal, I love having a window there and have even considered having one put in but, I know that would be a mistake...sure love it though. It looks like they did a good job building it. I saw photos. it has metal drawer runners, which outlast the plastic ones. I have the same kind of kitchen sink in mine. I aways use a "dish-pan" thinking it will scratch if I use it without a dishpan. So, what's the verdict, ya gonna buy it?

Well ladies, I'll tell you. I think I have looked at a zillion trailers and floor plans over these past two years and although there are some out there that are similiar, it was the attraction of having all that window space plus no dinette that swung me with the Rockwoods. And looking over the craftsmanship, like Kdmac said, metal drawer runners as opposed to plastic etc., plus the creative use of space for storage, that swung me. I wantd to start out small for my first time RV and couldn't find what I wanted in used in the size I wanted. So I bought new. The 1809S I have now is a great trailer, big on storage space and plenty of room, but lacking exteror space and I also love the walk around bed type plan. Since I bought my TT last summer I have given thought to the fact that it's probably going to be time to head south for the winters now and therefore I need a TT with a bit more exterior storage etc.

We all carry that "stuff" that we need or think we need to have to help keep our rigs functioning. Water hoses, awning tiedowsn, extra tarp, hatchets, trie iron, ropes, tool boxes etc. This stuff is currently being stored in my truck bed, in plastic tote boxes. So each time I go I have to load them in and then take them out. Plus I also carry firewood (scrap lumber and old cedar posts) and a ladder to allow me to clean off the top of my slice before I put it back in. If I head south, I have no desire to keep that stuff in my truck the entire time I am staying in one place for an extneded period of time. Some of it can go into the trailers storage compartment and stay there. Wish I had seen this floor plan last year but it's new for this year.

So I think I am going to email my dealer and inquire as to what we can work out in terms of a deal on one. I can advertise mine on Craigslist as there is a demand for the smaller TT's and this one is in excellent shape, still under warranty, stove has never been used (cook on grill machine or outside) and is still under warranty till late June. I think I might be able to do better in a private deal than the dealer would give me.

Judy, any half ton pickup can pull this one or the 2109S. The 1809S weighs around 4300 lbs loaded and the 2109S weighs around 4777. You need at least a 5.3 V-8 engine. My current truck is a 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 Extended Cab, equipped with the trailer towing package and a 6.2 literV-8. I find that the bigger v-* has more power to pull especially when getting up to speed merging on the freeways and also steep hills etc. You do sacrifice gas mileage (I get 10-11) with the TT in tow, but MH's don't do much better. The one plus is that with Michigan's permanent trailer plate, I only need to renew my truck plate each year and not worry about a second license plate. Plus I can tow my home on wheels and park it and go run around with my truck.

Sure is a beauty, Sue! No wonder you are in love! What would make it perfect for me would be if it had a bathtub! I do love the layout!

That's a sweet looking trailer! Floorplan is super

LOVE the other one, Cherokee Grey Wolf 18RB. It's a little bigger by 1' 7", only another 654lbs but the same price. Nice big wardrobe in the bathroom...Would be really nice for a couple or for a single person. Wouldn't work for Kelly and I tho. ~sigh~

Hope you can work it all out.
