Aw, Dang It!

Sorry, but I have to vent. Very frustrating event happened to me today.

Was driving down the road heading into Gaylord and noticed my tire pressure indicator was alerting me that my Right Rear tire was low and needed air. By chance I happened to be right by my dealers, so I just turned into the drive and headed to the oil change?tire place. Told the guys what was up and they said to just drive it into the bay. Once I got in, they checked it and asked me to come back and have a look. There was what looked like a screw in the tire  And it wasn't a teeny one either. And my luck, the darn thing had embedded itself and put a hole right through the tire and therefore was not repairable. My first thougt was "Aw, darn it!" No recourse but to replace the tire. And the sad part is, the tire only has 7500 miles on it. Nuts

Fortunately they had one in stock and were able to do it right then and there or my trip to the RV show would have been out the window tomorrow. So now my checkbook is minus a $175 bucks  Nedless to say I am not a happy camper right now.

Did you have road hazard on your old tire. Because I had it and forgot I had it one time!

At least you were not left along the side of an interstate..... small positive can still be found. :)

You were in a lucky place when it happened, tho. Like Tina said. Is unfortunate, but unfortunately, those unfortunates happen. (Couldn't resist that sentence.)

That sucks. And that's an expensive tire!

Road hazard insurance might cover a nail/screw in the sidewall???
I didn't know that! Good information, which is not, fortunately, unfortunate.

Doggone it, Sue. Sometimes life just isn't fair. I'm glad, though, that you were so close to the dealership.

Last weekend one of the lake side parks my sister and I stopped at to check out the fishing had nails and big staples all over. Thank goodness my sister noticed them and we got the broom and swept up as many as we could so I wouldn't drive over them again. Someone had been burning pallets. At least if you are going to have trouble it's good to be in the right place. I wouldn't want to be stuck on the side of the road with your weather.

Oh, dear, Sue. Sorry for the hit on your pocketbook, but like everyone else, I'm glad you were near the dealership and got right in.

Now that sure did suck, Sue, but, on top of being in a perfect place, it must have been good to know your tire pressure warning device worked! I have those on my truck, too. I haven't tried the one I bought for my trailer yet, after I returned the receptor that was faulty and they sent me a new one. I should do that.

I feel for you Sue. When I moved to FL I had 8 flat tires the first year. There was so much new construction going on at the time that nails, screws and even tools were all over the roads. Once had a small screwdriver taken out of a tire. The upside was that they could all be repaired. :D Linda
