Yes, it is a little hard to grasp when these "beyond famous" people pass out of our history. Aside from our awareness that they were just people that were made famous by the films they made and the "fame-making machine" of giant production entities they still were part of our own histories as little girls; we were in such awe of their beauty and fame back in the day when their beautiful clothes and homes were so romantic. I personally have always thought that Elizabeth Taylor was the most stunning beauty of all the famous motion picture beauties. I was saddened.

Yes, she was indeed a beautiful women. And for every actor or actress from my childhood and beyond, that passes away, it makes me realize that I too am getting older.

Liz was not only a real. classic beauty, but she was a dedicated worker to try to help people world-wide with AIDS. I believe she was the one who first talked publicly about the disease, and actually motivated our elected officials to take notice and spend money for research and help to those afflicted. I have never seen anyone else in my life with true, lavender-colored eyes! And, the scary part of her demise, she was not that much older than I!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Not only was she beautiful (truly)...but she was a pretty neat gal too. Didn't really give a darn what anyone thought...did things her own way....bad or good...and didn't complain about it all...I don't think we'll ever see 'movie stars' like the ones most of us grew up with....Where's the Paul Newman's and the Clark Gable's and the Bogart's, etc.,etc. Then the gals...of course Marilyn, Loretta Young, Betty Grable, Ingrid Bergman...Naw....there's none out there today like those of the past. It's a shame !! :(
