Chocolate ale

Ok Bethers I had no idea what to put this question under so I closed my eyes and landed on General Talk  . My DH and I were just out in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area (not camping yet) and while there I had a local beer that was a White Chocolate Ale. It was so delicious, but I am trying to find something local if possible. I am in Kentucky and the beer was so darn good, I'd be willing to drive a few hours in any direction. Anyone know of any local brewers that make a similar ale? I am not normally a beer connoisseur, but this one was to die for. :? :?

Sounds interesting Cindy, I Googled it and found the Sonoran Brewing Co. in AZ here is a link to there site that tells of all the places it is currently available. You might as a local store if they will order some, I'm not sure on the laws if the brewery could mail it to you. All the reviews about it were five stars, I did see a couple of recipes in case you might want to make a little home brew

Opps forgot the link  http://www.sonoranbrewing.com/locations.php

I'm not a beer drinker... but anything with chocolate in the name at least deserves a try!

When in doubt - the general room is a good place to put something.

Does the beer actually have a chocolate flavor? I'd try it- but to be honest, as much as I love chocolate, it doesn't normally go well with beer. With all those good reviews, tho - next time I'm in AZ I'll be looking for this to try!

I've seen chocolate wine in the store but can't bring myself to try it. Just doesn't seem right somehow. I've had beer that claims to have chocolate "notes" in it. Not sure what that means. I don't know that you'd have to drive anywhere to get it since everything seems deliverable these days.

I've tasted chocolate wine. I'm not much of a wine connoisseur but it was okay. However I'd probably never buy a bottle for myself. I do like chocolate and beer together! So does my sister. I know it sounds disgusting but there is nothing better than fudge and beer! ;)

The beer does have a white chocolate after taste. I am not much of a beer drinker normally, but I do love my chocolate  , so I decided to give it a try and I was hooked. I thought it would be sort of creamy from the sound of it, but it was a bit dark and really good for just sipping, not guzzling.

I have googled breweries around where I live and cannot find anything real similar so I plan on checking with the Sonoran brewery on Monday to see if it's legal to ship it.

As for chocolate wine, I agree, that just sounds WRONG, but might just have to give that a try too :D .

I love Heineken and Corona beer. I would love to try White Chocolate. I'm so glad to find out I'm not the only weirdo who loves beer and chocolate...I especially love a Hot Fudge Sundae and beer. I'll be checking with the Spirits stores around me. Maybe they will order just for me ;)

A lightbulb just went off...Why don't we start a favorite weird food combinations thread? I will start with mine; I love Buttermilk and Peanut Brittle. I was helping out a friend in her store. She sold peanut and pecan brittle. I was eating some of the brittle and opened the fridg to see what she had. There was the buttermilk and I like it occasionally. I poured a little in a glass, since was taking frequent bites on the brittle I took a sip and found out 'this was yummy' so anytime I buy (have never made) the brittle I get me some buttermilk and Enjoy :!: :D
