Surgery is Done

Postby Gentleladybear » Wed Mar 16, 2011 3:34 pm

I got up at 5 this morning and went in for my surgery. They are very organized was in surgery by 8, out by 9 and coming home by 10. Can't beat that. Had no problems at all. But they did find that other than the menicus tear I also had a small broken bone hanging...so if I understood correctly they just took that out. He said he thinks that is what was causing me some undue pain. I also found out that I had developed some fluid in my left lung, so wasn't sure the surgery would happen, but surgeon said no big deal and he got 'er done.

I am home now leg up, cryogenic machince icing it. My son waiting on me, Bear loving on me, life is good. I have walked a bit and don't feel pain with the walking but keep the walker close at hand.

When I go back to work, will have two weeks to train my replacement and then I am free. Time is moving fast now.

See ya'll on the road.

Amazing how they do these surgeries, these days. Be sure to do the exercises they told you to do and you'll be up and at em in no time. How wonderful to have a son that will care for you; I can't even get mine to send me an email from time-to-time.

So glad that the procedure is over and you are on the mend. I am thinking that "hanging piece of bone" might well = big pain. One more mystery solved. Now, train train train and then run run run....away....wheeeeeeeeee :) :) :) :) Have fun and share the stories.

So glad it sounds to have gone so well. THAT's the exciting part. Being out of pain makes such a difference in being able to live. Now, what about the fluid on your lungs? Do you need to see someone about that?

YAY, Nan! So glad it's over and done, and that you're getting loving care from a two-footer and a four-footer! What a fast in and out you had---wonderful! No wonder you hurt so much with that hanging bone thingy!

Rest, and use your glow towel to keep cool!!! I use mine all the time in the trailer!

Glad to hear the surgery went well. Milk that son waiting on you stuff as much as you can. Follow doctor's orders, and yes get that lung checked out. Time's a flying...it's almost April.
