remember Lily and Hope.....
I've been watching the bear cam for a little while and they are so busy playing
right now and the two little babies are down between them. Its hard to imagine
all those bears crammed into a den and have room to move around and actually
play.
http://www.bear.org/livecams/lily-hope-cam.htmlas I continued to watch I could only see one little baby bear head pop out.

Thanks for reminding me. The Eagle cam is active two, with 2 fledglings in the nest.

Liz, I quit watching the eagles about a month ago when it looked like nothing was happening in the man-made nest. thanks for the update.
Ava, I was watching them this morning. Lily and Hope were playing up a storm! I can't imagine they have that much energy to spare on play, but they were going at it! I always fear for the cubs all mashed under them, but they seem to survive it all!

I watch them daily, and love it! I was so excited when the cubs were born, on January 21, the day we were in Ocala Campgound, to see that the yearling, Hope, didn't think they would be tasty tidbits! Faith and Jason love playing with bith Hope and their mom, Lily, and all seem to manage amazingly well in that little den. Hope actually takes very good and gentle care of them.

I'd s seen the eagle cam, but just checked out the bear cam...how COOL is that?! I'm forwarding that to everyone I know. Those little cub cries are so endearing! Brings out my maternal instincts...at least for a few minutes

Saretta, the forum sista's watched all last season. It was so interesting, and mom even
abandoned Hope for quite some time and we all thought she might perish from starvation
but as you can see, she didn't. Mom came back, they tagged up together and continued
with their bond and now you see the rest of the story.

I looked at it this afternoon, and at least one cub was screetching non-stop for several minutes. The mother looked like she was moving around, but that didn't seem to help. Was the cub getting crushed? Or was it just hungry?
It was a little upsetting. Also, the picture is very fuzzy. Does someone go around every once in a while and clean the lens?

They seem to be very careful about not sitting on the cubs. They screech when they are hungry. Hope licked the lense the other day and the researchers went out to clean it off and as soon as they did, she went over and licked it again. They haven't been able to get in there to clean it off again. Silly bear!

Just watching the bear cam now. The picture is coming from another camera outside the den and Lily and Hope are outside watching the two humans take photos and, I assume, maintaining the equipment. They have a plastic bag which might have food in it because Hope grabbed something and the human grabbed it back.
Wish I could see better what the humans are doing. The bears are just sitting there, watching and occasionally getting closer for a sniff. They look pretty used to these people near their den.
The smaller cubs are inside.
Must be the end of hibernation.
