The hard side slide is really interesting. Not as secure as a regular trailer or RV sidewall, but a lot better than the usual canvas pop-outs. Wonder if it leaks, however, or how it is in a windstorm?

My neighbor has one like that on his trailer, only it's in the back instead of the front. But I don't see too many of them in the campgrounds. Perhaps they aren't that popular. My neighbor has his trailer up for sale, but didn't sell it last year. Gonna take somebody who wants that type of trailer to buy it. Most folks like the other type of slides with the whole bedroom, sofa or table/dinette that slide out it seems.

Apache made a pop up trailer with hard sides like that once, but it didn't seem to stay out long. Only saw a few around.

I've seen several of those types. Good point - they are allowed into cg's where softsided aren't. Bad point - people think they can claim to be 23 feet - without mentioning the extra distance the slide gives them - they are wrong. Watched one person try to figure out how to open their slide in a small spot with trees directly behind. They thought they were being sneaky - just hurt themselves - and that space isn't usable if it's not opened.

There's also a neat hard-sided type of tt that expands both ways - not sure what it's called, so don't know how to find a picture, but I was real impressed with one of those I got to go in a few summers ago (yes, I ask to see inside when something impresses me) where I was staying.

WE almost thought about getting one of those. But once we researched we opted not to. Seems they sometimes develop issues and the ones we looked at had a weight limit of 250lbs on the bed. So DH would have to sleep on the floor.
