KEEPING FEET WARM

I remember reading a post a couple of days ago, where somebody had asked for some advice for us northerners as to how we keep our feet warm in cold weather. I don't remember where I saw that post or who wrote it, but I wanted to reply to it.
I get sweaty feet too and in cold weather, I have trouble keeping them warm. I have found though, that if you put foot powder on before you put on your socks, that helps greatly as it keeps your feet from sweating. Secondly, don't wear pure cotton socks. They are the worst for getting wet and therefore giving you cold feet. If you can, see if you can find some Merino Wool socks. Wool is well known for it's insulating capabilities even when wet. But most of us can't tolerate wearing pure virgin wool cause it's itchy.
Beacuse I live in a cold winter climate, I of course have to keep insulated boots on hand for those days when I am blowing snow, walking my dogs etc. But I have also discovered that LL Bean's Snow Sneakers are well worth the money in terms of keeping feet dry and warm no matter what the weather.

I bought a pair last year and just love them. Bought another pair this year too even though I am still wearing the ones from last year. They are ideal for walking in colder weather, doesn't even have to be winter weather. I've been in slush, rain, wet grass, snow etc. and my feet have stayed warm and dry no matter what. I wear them all the time when I go places up here outside of what I mentioned above about wearing my heavier boots. Even in the fall doing yard work, puttering in the garage etc. They are so lightweight that you don't even know you have them on. I have the mid cut ones as I think they are warmer and give you some support too. And they have excellent traction on slippery surfaces.
So you might want to give these ideas a try. Somebody else out there might have some ideas too.
