New rv?

I bet that some of you thought I fell off the face of the earth after the AR GTG - no such luck gang!
I may deserve the blue ribbon for lurking tho!
We are considering another rv as Tillie really isn't big enough for two people.
Does anyone know how to get the invoice price on a new TT? I scanned the web for awhile today, guess I'm not looking in the right places... I normally wouldn't buy a new rv, but with economy and the gas price scare, maybe for the right price I would.
Mitch the Wonder on the computer-----are you paying attention??
Vickie, I know if M were to help I would probably have to be nice to her right?
Sorry I won't make Fl, but I WILL be at Port Lavaca.
Thank you to anyone who can lead me in the right direction.

Vicki

Yes, you MUST be nice to me (because I AM THE NICE ONE...)
Yes, we did think you fell off the face of the earth.
Or that Vickie somehow REALLY ticked you off in AR...
(I thought that was a more likely option than falling off the face of the earth.)

Check this out:

http://rvbasics.com/techtips/how-to-buy-an-rv.html

Bargain for the best price. Forget the sticker price, RV's are often marked up as much as 40%. Start your negotiation by asking the dealer if you can see the manufacturer's invoice and bargain up from there. If the dealer won't show you the invoice you can search out the suggested retail price from services like the NADA Recreational Vehicle Price Guide, then deduct 40 percent-the typical dealer markup.

Let the being nice to me begin.

I need to pose the question, "Who first hijacked this thread?"
Why, it's the person who STILL has not provided ANY helpful information for Vicki's question...

Just sayin...it weren't me!!!

Yes, Nice Vicki, I have wondered where you were. Glad you are ok. I liked your little trailer, and all the work you had done to it. but do understand, two wouldn't be all that nice in there for long periods.

Sure glad to hear from you, got the Dufus's stirred up to, didn't you? Did you plan that?

Let us hear from you more, Please, and you must take us shopping with you ;)

CArol :)

my post wouldn't go, because Mitch posted at the same time, I refuse to answer her question, so therefore, lets see if my "Hi" to Vicki gets posted this time  :o

I'm sitting here laughing while I say - even if they SHOW you what they CLAIM is their cost - don't believe it. You should be able to get a minimum of 25% off the retail price, and I'd not accept that. As Mitch says, some get as much as up to 40% off! That might not happen, but go for the big #'s. And if it's last year's model - you should be able to get that 40%!

Unfortunately, my workamp job is doing to start before the Port L gtg - so much wanted to be there. But will be there in spirit. And hope to go there some the month prior to that - IF I get to TX like I'm planning.

There you are Missy! I've been meaning to pm you and see if you were ok, but as usual the best laid plans of mice and men...

Yup, good advice from the gals, as usual, keep us informed on your hunt for the perfect rv! Hope things are well with you and yours and take care. (Sure was hoping it was Mitch's and Vickie's sniping at each other and not the excercise class or hiking with Carolyn that kept you away!!)
