http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9EbHntBpRqI"This video shows clips of the Christmas light decorations in downtown Chandler, AZ. My brother & I taped these clips at 12:05 AM on Christmas Eve 2008. The tree is a large tumbleweed Christmas tree spray-painted white & covered with glitter."
You don't have to believe the stories to find this a sweet video.

Loved the video. Brought back some memories. It was in the late 60's and I was living right on the ocean in San Diego California. The summer tourists were gone and the "natives" had the beaches to ourselves. Our local hippies, of which there were many in those days, made a Christmas tree of tumbleweed on the beach and sprayed it silver. I couldn't afford a tree that year so my daughter and I helped decorate it. As I recall it was one of the prettiest trees ever. My mother flew down from Seattle and we walked thru the beach community and the little alleys. Her comment: "Oh, isn't that sweet - someone is burning incense." I nearly died laughing and told her not to breathe too deeply. Remember, it was the 60's.
When I moved from Seattle Washington to San Diego California and saw xmas lights in the palm trees - looked so funny to me. Then I moved to Texas and they put lights on the tree trunks so at night all you see are these BIG lit up trunks with no tree tops. Funny looking.
