Well Toto, we're not in Kansas but...

...in Oregon! Today at about 11:45 a.m., just TEN miles from my work, there was an EF2 tornado. Yup, that's right, a tornado. It hit a little town just east of Salem called Aumsville. A nice little community of about 3,400 people. The twister went right down main street. NO deaths as far as I've heard. Lots of property damage though. There was even a "Dorothy House". A house that was picked up and slammed back down while a woman was sitting in her living room with her 2yr old child. They weren't injured. Very scary day here for sure. We have had biblical rain here lately with lots of flooding, landslides, etc so not sure what's next. Probably a stupid earthquake LOL

Anyway, just thought I'd share our unique weather story for the day.

Saw that on the Internet news - was surprised - especially this time of year too. Scary. Glad it wasn't any closer to you. But feel for the people who had damage and glad no one was seriously injured.

Just saw the story on the news here. I think they said it was only the 4th tornado in OR in 10 years! Glad you're safe and well ;) Definitely weird weather around the country.

Wow! Scary! Certainly odd for that to happen this time of year, especially up there! That mom and child were very lucky! So was everyone else, since no one was killed! Yes, the weather all over is wild! Can't argue that the climate changes are very unusual and extreme these past couple years...

Well, I slept thru the news and didn't see it, so I checked the map to see how far it was from Ronnie's hometown of Turner, he's still got relatives there. It's not very far, I know we went thru Aumsville when we went to Sublimity. He can find a CB shop in the middle of nowhere. I'm glad everybody's okay up there.

I saw/heard that in the news and thought about you Oregonians-----what a scary happening that must have been. Tornadoes give me the creeps----give me hurricanes and sub-zero temps any day compared to a tornado.

I saw that on the news as well, those folks up there are just not used to
seeing tornados in their neck of the woods. What a shock for them.
