Our Sunday afternoon in Alamos

Postby asirimarco » Tue Dec 14, 2010 1:53 pm

Drove up to Alamos Sundayto spend the day. Just to enjoy the town again and eat lunch. The town was built in the 1500s as one of the earliest Spanish silver mining towns. When the mines closed it was almost abandoned but rediscovered by the North Americans in the 1940s. A lot of the area has now been restored to original splendor.
Amazing how narrow the streets are and how many stores can be crammed into such small spaces. And of course the drive there and back is always interesting
Hope you all enjoy my blog post about it http://mexicobymotorhome.blogspot.com

I am so enjoying the blog and all the wonderful pictures. totally a different view of Mexico than what we hear about the cartels, drugs, and murders. Thank you for sharing. it's really lovely; and I love living vicariously...it's so easy on the pocketbook!!! :) And now I'm hungry for taters!!!
