So, I was looking up Lynn's new pop-up - Coleman Niagra...came upon this picture.
I thought self-contained mean potty contents storage, aka black tank?
Based on this picture (and the red arrows), they'll be pooping onto the ground??? :o

Is someone messing with us folks, or is the description a typo??

I had a pop-up with a bathroom similar to that. They have what's called a cassette toilet, where there's a 5-gallon black holding tank that is removed and dumped into a typical dump station. They usually don't have any kind of holding tanks for black or grey water, so most folks use blue totes or something else to capture their grey water.

They're very handy for getting away and dry camping for a night or two. I loved mine, but got soft -- and lazy -- and wanted a box that I didn't have to set up every time I took it out. Sure do miss being able to literally pull it out of the garage and push it back in when I got home.

I don't know from that what the rv is missing - but here's a definition of self-contained:

Self Contained: A self contained RV has the capability of supplying electrical, drain and water needs without any external hookups. These units can also use standard hookup facilities at campgrounds.

Could be it doesn't have it's own heat system? Or water storage? Obviously there is something that puts it in the non-self-contained category. It could still have a black tank - and not one of the other things? That 5-gallon one still would make it self-contained in my mind. But my cassette toilet on a boat we had - portable one - had a little tank we had to take care of. I hated that and was able to delegate it :)
