There was a 3.3 earthquake this morning in Riverside, CA. There was a short article about it in the Desert Sun News. Here is a comment someone wrote in about it...just about fell off my chair laughing so hard!

"...3.3 – that's not news. I dropped my keys off the counter the other day and it was a 2.6!"

It was a weird quake....usually we have a roller or shaker, this one was just a big boom, kind of felt like a semi ran into the house or something. Wasn't sure if it was an explosion somewhere close (there's a big power plant about 5 miles from me and my second thought was maybe one of those idjits over there blew it up) or a quake. Heard on the news it was indeed a quake. Just a part of living here in sunny SoCal.

Geez, you're not that far from me and I sure didn't feel anything. Were you home at the time? I was at work up in Temecula so maybe that's why? I didn't think anything under a 4.0 could be felt.

Maybe Vickie had ice cream?
Just sayin'.

PS: For the new Sistahs - Forum Math 101:

Vickie + Ice Cream = Gas

Oh, so who put you in charge of making me the laugh of the day, shorty?
As I recall, your cooking did a whole lot worst things to me than gas!

Just sayin'.

I kinda miss the little rockers and rollers! VA had a small (about a 3.0) rocker a few months. The locals were really shook up...even my cats didn't notice this one. But when we lived in Signal Hill (Long Beach CA) area, they used to jump off the bed right before rockers would hit. I remember one night when I felt a quake, jumped out of bed, and went to my "safe place" in the hallway. Then I noticed that the cats were still on the bed looking at me strangely. Turned out there was no quake after all...guess I dreamt it! No, wait, it was a practice drill...that's it, that's my story and I'm sticking too it!

Oh, Barbie...So sorry you didn't feel it  I know how much you wanted to experience your first earthquake. When I first moved out to CA, when I was 19, I could feel the small ones. After living in CA for a long time, I didn't notice them until they were around a 5.0. Don't fret! You will definitely feel one sooner or later. The ground is moving all the time there.
