We have had a wonderful visit with our daughter and son in law in Bonney Lake, Washington, but it is now time to head to warmer weather.
I have a picture of my cell phone telling me it is 14 degrees outside. Chilly for sure. Our old bones and thin blood were not ready for those kinds of temps.
Pulled my usual clumsy act and fell down in her driveway. Landed on right hand and right knee. All is ok, other than bruising and soreness no harm done. Weird though seeing the base and palm of your hand turn eggplant colored. Did this once before at a campground, only that time the bruising went all the way up my arm to the elbow. Knee hurt like a sob, but is ok, only slight bruising. Weird there because the bruising showed up on my ankle and top of my foot. Had no pain with my foot.Still swollen up and bruised. Just thankful to whatever angel that watches over me.
Sending post from son's home in Kansas City where we are gonna stay a few days before heading for the camp.Hope all of you had wonderful Thanksgivings and safe travels wherever you go.

Glad yall had a good visit with DD & SIL! I don't blame you for heading for warmer weather, but uh, it was freezing here last night, radar this morning even showed some pink!

Sorry you took a tumble, but glad it wasn't serious. Hope you get some warmer weather soon.

OUCH!! I only say that because I fall on a regular basis. I slipped a couple of days ago on a step I had -- apparently unsatisfactorily -- shoveled. Racked my knee, but it was okay the next day. Mostly bruised my ego. Again.
But I laid there and cried -- and my roommate heard "something" but didn't come investigate. That was when it was about 10 degrees outside. If I really needed help (and was conscious) I would have yelled. But I told her -- laughing but only half kidding -- "So what good is it to have a roommate?"
Yeah, I was just a little crabby.

Glad you had a good visit with the kids. Really sad and sorry to hear that you fell and are bruised up! Sure hope those bruises don't start hurting later!

Glad you've had such a great trip (except for tumble) but know you will also enjoy warmer temps back home.

Glad you had a good visit even though the weather was less than what you would want! Your fall reminded me of one I had a couple of years ago
because I really hit my knee hard thought that it would be bruised really bad it wasn't couldn't kneel on it for months but it wasn't bruised the tops of the toes were though and lasted for a month of so funny thing was it didn't show up for a long time thinking a couple of weeks... it's weird what our body will do just to physic us out. Really glad you were hurt!

Ouch! Sorry to hear about your tumble Please be careful and get out of that nasty stuff! I am finally recovered from my bicycle incident. Now have a scar on my left arm. My elbow was pretty ugly after a couple of days. It takes awhile for the bruising to come to the surface. Places you don't even know you hit! Next time, have the family visit you in warm country

Oh my know how that feels... I fell on my knee on ice and that bummed it up so I could never get on that knee again... With my muscle disease I can fall easily but with the med have not fallen in a while... last time was over 3 years ago...
Do be careful as these old bones do not take to falling very easily... glad there are no breaks...
