KITCHEN PICTURES

Postby Colliemom » Sun Nov 21, 2010 6:17 pm

I've been asked to post pictures of my kitchen wallpaper removal/painting project so here they are. I realize this is an RV site and not HGTV, but there are inquiring minds out there who want to see :) Remember, this is just your ordinary country home kitchen, not the nice fancy marble counter top, flat top stove, black or chrome frig thing. Can't afford that stuff. I didn't remember till I had taken the wallpaper off, to take a before picture, but here it is after the primer is on and also a picture of the wallpaper I took off.

Here's the finished job at the moment. I haven't removed the wallpaper off the soffits, cause I wasn't sure if I wanted to. Wanted to see how it looked if I left it up there. Thinking I might do that but would love some "votes" from you ladies out there. I also as you will notice, took the wallpaper off over the doorway into the kitchen and wonder if I should put it back up if I leave the other wallpaper up. Can be reglued on as I have the piece.

this is the eating area. The wall is still a work in progress. I am going to remove those two plates from the right of the picture and redo that. Also considering maybe putting some candle holders on both sides of the picture.

it looks great, and that piece above the door would look good either way. You could put it
up and see how ya like it and if ya don't, just take it back down. Nice kitchen, looks
plenty fancy to me :D thats my kind of kitchen.

I like your homey country kitchen just fine!!!! Looking good in there.

And Ava's right I think it would look OK either way.

It looks really nice ! I love the color you painted - do you remember the name of the color ? I want it ! It's sort of a buttery beige, cool !
If it were me, I'd take down all the wallpaper. That's just me though - I think it was a good idea to leave it and just wait and see. It's allot easier to take it down and paint then it is to try and put it back up. It'd be sort of fun to frame a piece of that paper and hang it up as artwork !
Thanks for sharing and I agree, that's my kind of kitchen ! I don't need no stinkin' granite :D

I'd nix the rest of the wallpaper...just sayin' :D Love the color of the paint tho! Looks cleaner and neater and yellow makes a room so bright and cheerful!

Great job. Looks good! I know how much fun removing wallpaper is. ;)
I really like what you've done so far, and for myself, I'd take down the rest of the wallpaper.
I had green/red plaid in the spare bathroom when I bought this house. The wife did it for her hunter/outdoorsy husband. I swore I'd never use wallpaper after that!
Really appreciate the pictures, and again, great job!

Wow what a beautiful kitchen and dining room area... the paint selection is perfect... I would take down the paper on the soffits and paint them... I don't have granite or marble either so you are in good company...

Your kitchen looks great, so fresh and clean..almost motivates me  I agree with the gals on taking down the wallpaper but I might consider a contrasting color, maybe pick up a color in something in the kitchen like your canister set...just a thought. If you're tired you might just look at it for awhile and let your creative juices start flowing :? :D

Forgot to add that I love the color, too. I have something similar in my kitchen/living room.

Thanks for the name of the color - I want to be the person that gets to name paint colors, I love their names. Whisper Yellow is a great one.
Behr paint is the best, it's the only kind I use - thanks !

Love your "new'" kitchen. Am also a fan of Behr paints.
Think adding wall sconces in that eating area would be a nice enhancement.

I'm with taking the wallpaper down. This way you get the whole new look that you initially wanted. Good job. Linda

nice job.....I also vote to take the wall paper down.....think the white background of the paper distracts from the soft yellow......

The wallpaper will be coming down. Will probably use the yellow up top too. Might make the plates stand out better as well.

As to wall scones, I'm looking. Haven't found any that have caught my fancy yet, but I did see some candle holder sconces at Hobby Lobby today that might work and they're on sale for 50% off. This tells me that they are going to change stock, so something else might turn up after the holiday shopping period is over. But 50% off is good.....
