Off to see the daughter

Hi,
We are sitting at our son's home in Missouri waiting to get on the plane tomorrow and fly to Seattle where we will spend Thanksgiving with our daughter, new son in law , and Grand Fur baby at their new home.
For those of you who don't know our daughter, Candi got married last April and in June moved to Seattle, Washington with her new husband, Rob. He is in the Coast Guard and will be stationed there for 3 years. I haven't seen my baby in almost 6 months and this old mama is missing her very badly. Can't wait to get there. Pulled my coat that would keep Nanook of the North warm out of the back closet and away we go. Found out real quick that bluejeans and sweatshirts take up a lot more room than shorts and t shirts.LOL oh well, glad she has one of those new fangled high energy washing machines that are as tall as she is.
We plan to do a little sight seeing while there and gonna look for a campground for next spring/summer because we are planning to take the camper on a 3 month sightseeing trip ending up at her place. Planning on the Grand Canyon, Sequoi trees, redwoods, Oregon Coast, other spots in Oregon, Olympic area of Washington, Rainier, and finally to her place in Bonney Lake. When we leave there we plan on Glacier, Yellowstone, Denver, and then over to see our son and family in Missouri, down through Arkansas and back to LA. Dang, just tired thinking about it.
Will post about our visit.

Well, you have tons of fun, eat tons of food, and be safe.
Where will Emma be?

Man, I'm envious of your next year's trip!
What a great time you'll have!

Happy Thanksgiving, Marslet !!! Have a safe journey, with all the news items I have heard, not in envy of your plane trip. The ritual to get on the plane isn't appealing.
Do hope your visit is all you have hoped for and doesn't go by too fast.

CArol :)

Was watching Fox and I think people are making a lot to do about the scans. I would rather be safe than embarassed. Man didn't have anything I wanted to see. My moto: you refuse the scan, or the physical patdown--then your butt don't get on the plane. Heck I am gonna ask them if they find something interesting to take a picture because I want to see too.
And Mitch. Now you know how much we love and pamper Emma--She has her own plane ticket and is flying in the cabin with us. Would not leave my baby for over two weeks.
Plan to have a ball and will let all know about it,

Hope ya have a super grand visit with the daughter, SIL and the grand furbaby. Really rough being so far away from each other. I know I miss my David and my grandson Connor. ~sigh~

Marslet, have a great trip and holiday.

Yet another security measure for air travel, yet anyone can get in through Mexico. Really gets one thinking... Linda

Marslet,
I read that you are considering the Olympic pennisula trip in Washington. I would sure like to encourage you to do a different trip. The Deception Pass area of Whidbey Island and onto the San Juan Islands out of Anacortes instead; it is fantastic and a memory of a lifetime . The Penninsula is not nearly as fun and magnificently beautiful as the inland waters are. When you are on the penninsula you can't see the Olympic mountains much because you are at the base of them. The pennisulas beautiful beaches can't be reached by car, you have to hike to them. It is just miles and miles of very little in comparison to the San Juan's. Washingtonians would do the San Juan or Eastern Washington before they do the pennisula. When you are on the San Juan Islands you can go to the top of Mt Constitution and see Mt Baker and the Cascade mountains and up into the Canadian Peaks as well as fabulous views of the Olympics, again you won't see the Olympics when you are on the pennisula except for a little shot here and there. On the San Juan trip you will be taking ferry's and will see sea lion, harbor seals, likely killer whales. Iv'e lived here all my life and tramped over every single bit of this state and I know you will be thrilled by the beauty of the islands.
