Hello Sistahs!!

Ok for anyone that missed it?

We now have a pickup truck and travel trailer of our own! YEEHAW!!!! Bought the truck from the Lodges mechanic/employee and the travel trailer from the boss man. I did have a 5x10 utility trailer that we hauled our stuff around in. Have swapped that to the boss man as he really wanted it and then gave him $300 and became the new owner of a 1983 Cimarron by Fleetwood. Boss man says it's 26' long. Not the prettiest by any means but it has solid walls and a solid roof for over our heads. No pictures yet as Kelly hasn't taken any. Interior is a mix of white curtains, dark red dinette and a funky gray carpet. LOL We need to be changing some colors in the thing that's for sure. Would love to paint the inside, maybe an off white to lighten it all up. I hate dark interiors, they just seem too gloomy. Got ideas on fixing it up so will have to wait and see how far we get with it. ;>

Still here at the Lodge at least until tomorrow morning. Snowed yesterday/last night. Got about 3" YUCK! We are gonna spend one more night up here and leave in the morning. Boss man picked up the mail yesterday so that now I have the license plate for the trailer at least that will be legal. LOL But more snow is being predicted for tomorrow afternoon n night so we want to get the heck off the top of this rock and lower in elevation.

Sounds funny in a way considering I was a truck driver? But I am about half scared to death to pull out of here with the trailer. Be the fist time I've pulled with this truck, the trailer is old (hope nothing falls off) and I don't have any idea of it's weight, dry or loaded. Don't have sway bars or any break assist either. So I will for sure be taking it really easy going down the big hill between here and Fredonia. Once in the campground in Kanab UT we will have all day to get situated, hooked up and work on setting up housekeeping. Gonna be busy.

Ok, need to get back up to the trailers, still have stuff to put in the TT. Will holler at ya'll tomorrow sometime to let ya know about the BIG trip and that we made it in one piece. (i hope)

Love to all

Echo,

I wish you the best of luck!

I'm in upstate NY, and haven't got snow yet, can't wait

My only concern with the TT is the condition of the tires, this will be your first and most safety concern, make sure they are road worthy!

Hello!

We made to the campground! Minus a tire so I can't say that we made it in all one piece. Well what's left of the tire is still there but it now looks like a "hairy" ring hanging off of the rim. LOL We will not only have to get tires all the way around but will have to see about getting a new rim, this one is toast. I think it blew somewhere between Fredonia AZ and Kanab UT. Did a quick stop at the post office in Fredonia and it wasn't until after we left there that I started hearing a noise. No sooner came over the UT state line and there was a UT highway patrol sitting on the side of the rode. Sure didn't take him any time at all to hit the lites and siren and pull my butt over! His eyes were kinda bugging out when he came up to the window of the truck and asked me if I knew I had a flat tire? Told him "no". Well I didn't have a flat tire but a shredded tire in fact. :o My heart hit the dirt at the thought of the $$$ for road service, tire and rim. He also gave me a field sobriety test! What ever is up on the rock raises hell with me. Makes me sneeze, sniffle and my eyes to be bloodshot. Now mind you it's not your every day normal bloodshot either. My eyes almost look a glowing red. Like a monster from under your bed. So pretty to look at. LOL Anyway, he had been sitting waiting for a drunk driver to come out of Fredonia and saw me instead!!! Good thing that there's only 8mls between the two small towns! He asked me where we were going? Told him to Kanab and the Crazy Horse campground where we would be staying for the winter. So probably against his better judgment he turned us loose on the promise that this was all the farther we were going. Good thing we hadn't planned on going anywhere else or we would have been stranded on the side of the road.

So anyway we are here....got backed in and parked in our site with full hook-ups. The only freaking thing I hooked up was the power cord last eve. For the time being I was gonna be satisfied with lites and ele heater, we were tired and starving so figured I would hook up my water and sewer today. We went to Micky D's and splurged on the dollar menu. Came home and then plugged in a second ele heater, a small one that we had bought from Snowball, for a little extra heat in the back end where the bedroom is. Welllllll guess what? :x popped a fuse? or a circuit? breaker or something??? Have no freaking idea where the panel is to check. :x :x Have looked inside and outside and can't find it. Have a call in to the bossman and he is suppose to call us as soon as he gets home today from Colorado. Until then I have run an extension cord from the power hook-up and am now using 110 to run the ele heater and one lamp. ~sigh~ I do have to out and get the water hose hooked up tho and will put the sewer line on at the same time. We don't plan on or really want to use the shower in here as it's tiny and the shower house is just a real short walk from our site. I would much rather use theirs than ours and therefore we can use the shower in here for storage of whatever. Maybe as a laundry hamper for our dirty clothes! LOL

As to pictures??? Ain't nobody getting a look at the inside of this trailer at this time. OMG!! :o :? It is such a mess in here with stuff packed, stacked and tossed in. After we get sorted, unpacked, ? re-stacked, stuff out, into storage and cleaned in here then we will post pictures of the inside. I will however nag Kelly to take a pic of the outside. :D

Need to get some of that rubber sealer stuff for the roof, some silicone sealer for the seams and around the windows, a new cover for the bathroom roof vent, as right now all that is in that and cover it is a big wad of plastic. And of course some way to get up on the roof too as there is no ladder on the back and I can't hop up there. ~sigh~

~sigh~ Sure wish Carol and Bill weren't on their way to MX. Could use his expertise here BIG TIME!  I would only borrow him for a little while! ;)

Well, I'm glad yall made it there, even if it wasn't such a good trip, that was dangerous. Now you can take the winter months to get things fixed, figured out and fine tuned!

Glad you made it mostly intact!

Just for grins, I went and plugged my Kill-a-watt thing into 3 different electric heaters we have here at the house (1 radiator style, 2 fan controlled). All 3 pulled just under 12A each. I think you may have trouble running two electric space heaters at the same time???

Do you have a gas furnace in your new trailer?
Have your named it yet?

Looking forward to pics (of your spot, too...)
