Oprah -- Again!

Okay, it's just too funny not to share -- Oprah & her friend Gayle went to YOSEMITE and they did it in a POP-UP!! The first of 2 episodes aired today, with the other half airing on Wednesday. Oh my gosh, it was funny!

Anyway, for those of you so inclined, you might want to tune in to Oprah next Wednesday to see what happens to her and Gayle. I certainly won't be missing it!

Darn, Iwish I had known that. I don't have any way of knowing what's on the tube, since thee is no TV guide. And the papers don't print them anymore either unless you get a daily one which has it for just that day. But even that doesn't say anything other than the program name. Maybe it's on a website. I'm going to check it out.

Am watching it right now. Talk about inept. They're camping "all alone" except for the big camera crew with them. Can't believe Gayle yelled "for a man" cause neither one of them could use a bottle opener. Are you serious? A bottle opener. She talks about "taking a butler" the next time. Does this woman have any grasp of reality without tons of money? She acts like she's slumming. Sorry, she really annoyed me.

I just saw some of the "trailers" on one of the others shows.....then promptly forgot or didn't pay attention when the actual show was scheduled..... It did look as if they were sort of clueless...but then if they have never been camping.....It reminds me of the "city" kids that the Salvation Army brings out to the their camp in the country.....and they have never seen real cows, etc....

I saw bits and pieces of it on advertisements and also on some talk show
the ladies watch in the drivers lounge during the layover time. I found it a
little "stupid" humerous and though Oprah would probably have more fun
camping with her friend Dollie in her big motorhome :D I'm surprised Oprah
doesn't have one just like it. If I had her money I'd have a big motorhome
too, but I'd be a little smart and not get one too big to fit in a campsite :D

If you have a Yahoo account there is an app on My Yahoo where you can set up a TV schedule. Put in any of the channels you want and you can check it each day or for the entire week.

watched it too...and I found it funny! however I wondered about having a pop up there with the bears!
I think if you are totally out of your comfort zone then what we find automatic would throw others for a loop... although have gone to daughters and had to have them use the can opener for me as I couldn't make theirs work! really feel stupid when it happens

I had my DVR set to record it so I watched it a bit ago. It wasn't all that different from her road trip with Gayle except this time we got to see the entourage that goes along in order to film and cater to the stars. The whole trip was because a black ranger at Yosemite wrote her and said that there were hardly any black folks that camp or visit there, so the trip is to promote that. They did run into a black man that camps there every year so on today's show they awarded him and his wife the pop up camper and Tahoe that they used to pull it. Wonder how he felt sitting in the audience and watching the part where Oprah turned too sharp in the CG and hit a rock with the camper and messed up the plumbing underneath, then her giving it to him?
The views in the park that they showed was magnificent.

I was home from work a little early yesterday and was able to watch most of it and thought it was a hoot. Laughed so hard when they were working on the bathroom door. Brought back some memories of the first time that we took our first camper out for a weekend. At least we weren't celebrities who had the entire population in the campground watching us. Sure there is an entourage of Oprah's crew around but it wouldn't be filmed if there hadn't have been and I'm sure that someone has to be there for their security because there are a lot of nutso's in this world. Think I'm going to have to try the Moscow Mules! Bet there are lots of places getting inquiries about ginger beer today. I hate those darn Swiss knives or whatever they are called...I can never get them to work either and usually end up cutting or poking myself. One of the reasons I've never acquired a taste for "good" wine that requires a cork screw.....just give me bottle with a top that screws off or a can with a pop top!
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

I believe The ranger shown on her show is the same one who is in Ken Burns documentary about the national parks. I found their "adventures" hilarious also. You gotta give her credit for trying something so out of her world and comfort zone.
