Anyone in the path of Gustav? Hopefully it will slow down before it hits land again.

I've been watching cnn all day, the evacuation is incredible, and although there
are a few that aren't leaving its still incredible, historical I think, cause I've
never seen a whole town get evacuated before. Beaumont Tx is also on evacuation
notice, and I'm sure the storm will be felt all along that coast. Wonder where all
the people are going. My prayers are with all those people and I certainly hope
they still have a home when they come back.

Called my Step Mom today to make sure she is going to be ok, need to write an E-mail tonight to Mama Mabels neighbor to make sure she stays with them so she is not scared. She'll get the wind and rain bad and I don't want her alone. Miss Vicky should keep me informed that Mama is ok. They are in Prairieville. Miss Betty from Bettys RV park took a hit last time and weather is heading her way so will write a note to make sure Betty is OK in Abbeville.
Martha are you guys going to be OK? Jill & Tommy hope you house is not in that area where it's going to hit! Sharlotte keep us posted how you & Jim are. Everyone is heading to your town!!

Just turned on the TV - what a mess - but guess it is good it wasn't as bad as it might have been. Couldn't believe when I saw one reporter talking to a family on their boat - they were going to ride out the storm because "the kids wanted to stay" Ummm.... who runs that family? Hope they are still enjoying life.
Waiting to hear from all you in harms way. Hope your worst problems are no Internet.

I'm headed out with a few people here to take a golf cart towards our beach in about 1/2 an hour. That will be just a tad before high tide. I know earlier today the tide was close to our boardwalk (realize that just a couple days ago there was a 2 lane road in the sand - then the sand area where everyone plays, etc - so you're talking a LARGE sand area - We are figuring the sand swells caused by Gustav might even be up onto the boardwalk - which it didn't quite do that when we got the rains, etc from our earlier hurricane this summer. Right now we don't think we'll even get any rain - but there will be flooding in some areas because of the waves, etc. No worries here about that, though.

I'm also glad that Gustav hasn't been as dangerous as he appeared - but I'm thrilled that people took him seriously and did evacuate in so many areas.
