First of all, an apology for not posting pictures very much this trip, for some reason just couldn't get motivated to do so, even tho I took some pretty good ones. I'll try and get caught up even tho it's after the fact. Sooo, I'm home..not very happy to be here, but here I am, and it just started raining. But next week is supposed to be perfect, mid 80's and sunny. Got home Saturday after a long drive from Albuquerque to Needles on Friday, Needles home on Sat. Sister had to make an emergency trip to Ca and niece was working, so I just came home. I did take some pictures of 2 of my favorite places to stop for a break. The first one is between Alb and Gallup on the west side of I-40. It's an old pueblo and church. The Navajos have booths on the side where they sell jewelry and pottery. Didn't buy anything this trip.
The church is at the top of the hill:
This is a rest area on the NM-AZ border and the rock formations are gorgeous!
Driving into this about 80 miles west of Needles....Yikes!
All three rest areas on the 40 were closed, so stopped in Ludlow where there's truck parking at the DQ for breakfast and here it came:
Only poured for about 15 minutes but was treated to a beautiful thunder and lightening show. Just a drizzle when I left but had really bad wind for about 30 miles that had me down to 45MPH, then just a gentle breeze for the rest of the way. Hit the tail end of an accident about 20 miles from home that slowed to a crawl then a stop, but got thru it in about 15 min...not bad for Ca!
Finally...Home! Just on the other side of that rv parked on the left..have no idea who's it is, but thank goodness they're not at my house!
