I've been putting links to my blog for all the posts I've done on the shows here in Branson on the Branson GTG thread. If any of you aren't checking that thread, and are interested in the shows - check out my blog.

That said, I decided to post the thread on ziplining here - it was great fun: http://ontheroadwithbeth.com/blog/2010/ ... n-branson/

The Zipline was wonderful. The ride up the hill was an adventure in itself. The road was a narrow gravel switch back running up the hill with a minimum number of trees cut to allow the vehicle to pass. We were warned to keep anything valuable (like body parts) inside the vehicle. The zipline has only been open since spring. The guides did say several new zipline ventures have recently popped up around Branson. The building and engineering cost $$$. They told us that the tall poles throughout the ziplines and bridges were all flown in by 'copter.

For those of you worried about walking the bridges...they were okay. Sharon was a trooper marching across :)

The first pic is of the final tower of the fastest Zips...the one that we all decided that we would do next time :D

Walking in to register.

The trail to the bridges awaits..

But first the talk.....

Then off we go....

Brave Sharon..

Watching the hooking and unhooking ...but not by us!

Beth studied very hard.

Image

And at all times we are hook up by at least one of these! :)

Beth goes first

And she flys off

And then Sharon steps up.

And off she goes....

This one was the longest and the fastest zip.

We had reversed order on the this one and I got to watch Beth and Sharon come in to land.

And yes it was fun. One of the gentlemen that went with our group was 84. He needed a little more help steadying himself (balance) as he stepped up and down to get hooked up to the cables and the guides were great. SO, just saying.....age is just a number!

It's on my bucket list ;) Wouldn't it be awesome to zip over a rain forest or a big canyon?

I zipped in Mexico and it's where I intimately learned the fine art of tree hugging. No nice platforms with railings there, no nice bridges with ropes on each side, so this trip was a walk in the park!

Now THAT looks like the closest thing to parachuting that I could do! As you are already hooked up before you leap off into space there, I know I could do it. Jumping from a plane, however, you have to pray your chute was packed properly and that it will open! I would love that! You all had such happy faces there! Maybe next year when you all get back to Branson, I will be there, too.

Thanks to all for the great pics!
