The third Thing to go Wrong

Postby retiredhappy » Sat Sep 11, 2010 6:15 pm

OK, hopefully this is the END of my bad luck. We stopped for gas today and I couldn't find the credit card I used for gas yesterday. Tore the RV apart - NO CARD. Phone call to company to cancel card - nothing was charged on it except for my gas. OMG, what next????

Right now we're at #1 RV Park of Tyler. Good thing: cement pads so we're level and its a Passport Park so it was $17.50. Bad thing: You're RIGHT next to your neighbor so no awning and its hotter than hell. The dog walk is on the other side of the park.

We're gonna play it by ear tomorrow - not sure if we'll make it all the way to Petit Jean or stop somewhere in between. Couldn't actually find anywhere to stay on the computer except for a park in Texarkana which was $44 a nite?? NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

Three's the limit, Karen! Did you check in your refrigerator for your credit card? Once, when I had a bunch of company staying here, I lost my wallet, and it was finally found in the refrigerator! I have never lived that one down, as we tore the entire house and my truck apart looking for it! It's now a joke that if anything gets lost, check the fridge!

Ouch. I was going to suggest you boondock tomorrow night - but it's probably too hot for that. Plus I'm guessing you're taking the interstate, and not a lot of options on it. Good luck - There are some state parks in AR after Texarkana that probably aren't too far out of the way.

Check jean pockets, around the seat on the driver's side. I get gas put my card in my pocket and forget that I slipped it in there.

But always heard bad luck comes in 3's so this should be it.

Frustrating when this kind of thing happens.

Come on to Petit Jean, Karen. That's what Carol and I did. That way nothing else bad can happen on the way here at least. We got here late this afternoon and are staying in the B section until Monday. Plenty of spaces in this section.

Karen - I usually put my gas credit card in my pocket of pants or jacket. Usually find it after I've canceled it. Once months after "losing" it, found it under the driver's seat. Have also found it in the dryer. LOL Of course, you are traveling so that wouldn't be the case. Another senior moment???

Enjoy your trip and GTG

Dang Karen,

Afraid to ask about the generator. Sure hope you find that cc in your shorts pocket.

I am guessing you are not taking the interstates because I know how you feel about them. So, there is a park in Meno, AR called Shadow Mountain that has pull thrus. I don't know what the rate is, it isn't listed on their site. But that area would be a good place for you to stop midway to Petit Jean. It'll be a long day otherwise.

Sure do miss you. Spent the day geocaching today. Had an awesome day, but missed you for "Happy Hour" ;)

Stay safe and may the gremlins disappear! I think we need to institute the "Gremlin Bells" for rigs as well as bikes ;)

Love,
Sharon
