Ronnie and I spent the weekend at Big Bass Marina on the Toledo Bend Reservoir. It is a reservoir on the Sabine River between Texas and Louisiana. The lake has an area of 185,000 acres, the largest man-made body of water in (or partially in) Texas, the largest in the South, and the fifth largest (surface acre) in the United States. The dam is capable of generating 92 megawatts of electrical power. The dam was built by the two states, without any assistance from the federal government. There are many campgrounds and resorts along the water in both states.
There are only 4 rv sites available as most of the other sites are cabins/trailers for lease or long term leases for peoples rv's.
This is our site. At least it had a couple of small shade trees.
My sister and BIL have a camp on property adjoining the marina/campground.
They added the canopy when they bought it, for shade and parking the boats.
This is my sister, Beth.
My BIL Ronnie, loading the boat after a afternoon fishing trip.
Yep, he caught a big one!
The next day we were able to get Ronnie on their pontoon boat and we went for a ride and did a little bit of fishing, but didn't catch anything.
