This article from foxnews.com is one of the main reasons I don't use Facebook much.
If you're looked at my profile on FB, not a lot of information about me out there.
My best friend is the Security Officer of her company and she reamed me a new one when she first saw my FB page...
So off came my maiden name and birth date and hometown.

You know I don't use Facebook much and don't play ANY of the games. Think I just might take my site down.

I figure people can find me if they want to - on or off line - always have been able to - always will be able to. I don't sweat it. Now, if my identity gets stolen - I'll track them down and ... well won't go there.

Had an employee long before the internet who had her identitiy stolen - IRS still comes after her for money the other person makes. And that's going on 20+ years now.

I'm thinking of doing the same. Our youngest daughter had her FB hacked several months ago and the mess that was created - OMG. Kris (the daughter) sent out an email to all her Outlook Contacts (after hacking her FB, the thieves hacked her personal email) saying she was stranded in Africa somewhere without her purse or passport - could we send money! Kris found out it was because her password was too easy. And G and I have had our credit card number stolen twice now! Use it online and someone breaks into that merchant's servers - BAM - card number gone.

G probably didn't mind, as they spent less than you do.
