Hi Everybody,

Back from my "Maiden Voyage". A Very successful, although a bit hectic. Hitched up night before with no problem and took it to my site before I started work. Backed in with no problems, course it helps to have a BIG WIDE site. Had enough time to put out slide and hook up electric, drop jacks, put out wheels chocks etc. Left the awning for lunch break. That's where I ran into a little glitch. I kind of put on side up a bit too high and the other extension twisted sideways on me. I was trying to get it straightened out when one of my co-workers came by on his way back from lunch (he and DW were camping too). Helped me straighten it out and finish putting up the awning. The park was FULL and VERY BUSY. Lots of people, bikes, kids, dogs etc... Of course two of mine had to bark at everybody, so spent a lot ot time shushing them. Had a peaceful first night, tookthem home in morning, decided to stay home that next night due to Fireworks at the lake and the lateness of people going back to campsites etc., A lot of foot traffic past my site and even cutting between sites. Figured it would give dogs a break, let them have their yard for a day, and then back to the camp on Sunday. But neighbors popped off fireworks, dogs got hyper, took awhile to settle down, get to sleep etc... May as well have stayed at park. Got up Sunday, workd, came home, picked up dogs and we had a nice evening, a bit of walking and peaceful sleeping night. No campfires this trip. Weather was great but very warm and humid. The kind that sends you into a sweat the minute you move. Hitched up this morning, came home. Trip to the Dulmp Station went fine. ONly problem was I forgot to crank up my jack and SCRAPE, SCRAPE down the road Water heater reset light came on and not sure what to do about that yet. Need help from the RV guruss. So now to clean up the rig and plan the next trip wh.

great job, you will get the hang and everything will come automatically
after you have a few trips under your belt. A checklist helps too.
Now, about that water heater reset light...did you turn off the propane?
Was it hooked up to electricity at the park and when you unhooked it
perhaps its trying to fire up the propane. I don't know but its a thought.
See what your manual says about your water heater.

I'm not sure on the reset either, but is it possible you need to turn it off if it's not able to connect to something? Electric or propane? Again, I'm not sure at all here. Hopefully someone that has the same type will chime in.

Congratulations on your maiden voyage! Of course you took lots of pictures? We just never let up, do we?

Sue I'm glad you had a good first camping trip. Maybe if you tell us some more about the water heater reset situation, we could offer suggestions. When did the light come on, when you first connected, when you were disconnecting or somewhere in between? Was the heater tank full of water? Things like that may help us to understand what may have happened. Again, so glad it went well and I know you had fun, even sitting in the rv with the doggies is fun for me.

Oh yes, I took lots of pictures. Once I download and edit them, I will post them for you. Give you some idea of what this state park looks like. As to my next "outing", I'm not sure on that yet. I want to go a little farther north as there a a number of state parks within an hours drive from me. Thinking of taking a ride (( love rides) up to the and look the campground over to see what sites I might like. There is one I really want to go to, but it's on one of the largest lakes in the state and can really GET CROWDED, this time of year. Then after another trip or two like that I am heading north in the Upper Peninsula. Got lots of places I want to stay at up there. Just want to get a little more towng experience under my belt before I cross the Mackinac Bridge.

From what I understand about the reset light on my HW tank, it's just a reset light. Need to switch it off and wait a minute and then switch it back on. Tried that a couple of times but it still stayed on. I'm going to try it again here in the drive. Maybe the trip home may have helped it a bit from the bouncing around. Also emailed the dealer to ask them about it. The weather has been to warm and mubby to mees with much. Those of you along the east coast can agree with me I'm sure, but we aren't having that 100 degree weather though.

ok, my 2 cents on the reset light...
I just looked at mine and it says reset as well, and is a red light.
When I hit that switch the light comes on and the burner kicks
on using the propane mode on the hwh. The light goes off after
awhile and I don't think much of it. When I'm hooked up to
electricity I just use it in electric mode, but if I'm doing a long
bath or shower and want extra hot water a little quicker than
electric I can hit the reset and kick on the propane burner.
Does that make sense? My water heater is a suburban.
I also have a switch outside just inside the exterior panel where
I can turn the whole thing off entirely.

If you are just parking the rig and not staying in it - turn everything off, including the hot water heater, furnace, etc! Turn the propane gas off, too. In fact, the gas is probably already off and your reset keeps trying to start the water heater. With no gas flowing, it can't light. Don't want it on anyway, so just turn the water heater off.

Happy to hear you have your "first trip" under you belt. I agree with Ava. Make a checklist and add to it as other stuff comes up. I keep mine handy. I have one for setting up and tearing down.

Sounds like a great first trip. Agree with the lists, they are invaluable. The dogs should adjust the more they get to go with you. I would stay away from the really busy CG this year, take them to the less crowded ones until they get their "camping legs". Awaiting the pics. Linda
