A Visit to Guntersville Dam

Today I went to visit a friend. The scenic drive there is through Guntersville, a place I love. So I try to stop somewhere and today picked going to the dam - where I'd never been. I was very pleasantly surprised to find an area I could easily have spent a week at. Unfortunately, camping isn't allowed. It would be a wonderful boondocking location that isn't meant to be.

You can find all about it on my blog: http://ontheroadwithbeth.com/blog/2010/ ... revisited/

Liz, Carolyn and Sarah - the post before that covers your two visits - with pictures I "borrowed" from the 3 of you. Thanks! And since you're still here, Carolyn, I might grab more or take some of my own.

Great pictures of the dam and birds in flight...I haven't mastered that yet. You're welcome to use my pics anytime. They're for the enjoyment of all.

Great shots of the dam area and birds. I too love that whole area. When I took Tina there her last evening here it was my first time back since loosing the place my husband and I had on the lake. Didn't realize how much I had missed it. Have you been up to the State Park there? And yes, help yourself to any of my photos.

Great pics, Liz. Looked like allot of fun. I, too, would love to camp at that dam area. I did have to cringe when I saw the mess Peaches got into (bog mud). I bet that stunk, too.
