Yikes, July 2nd is fast approaching and I'm still trying to get my rig ready to roll. Got the inside all washed down with Murphy's Oil soap and am in process of puttng down non skid liner in drawers and shelves. Ran out, got more after work today. Got two boxes of "sfuff' sitting there waitilng to go into their place. Mattress pad on bed awaiting sheets and blankets and debating about using foam pad on mattress as I know many do. New bedspread run through the washer to freshen and soften up. Got a bunch of manuals to study yet. Off tomorrow and Tuesday. Tomorrow it's off to Camping World which is 50 miles south of me here but a nice drive. Rest of week is work from Wednesday on, cutting grass, walking dogs, etc. as well as getting rig ready , menu planning etc. Reservatins start July 2 till 5th. Might go over a day early if 1st stays open and I can aget organized. Since I just live 3 miles away, I can always take stuff over and put it in there. A lot of the "outside" stuff is going into plastic bins and stored in my truck. Oh yeah, rig needs a bath too before I leave. Darn oak tree dropping all kinds of junk not to mention rain. Anybody have a panic buttin

If you forget anything, you're not far from home to go back and get it. Weren't you going home each day to walk the dogs or something, anyways?

What they said Sincerely, relax, enjoy the cleaning and packing, too - and next thing you know you'll be at the cg relaxing in your new home on wheels.

list so you'll remember it next time
also keep in mind that Walmart has an rv dept too. Like my friend Ginny always
told me.....If Walmart doesn't have it, you don't need it.

For myself: so far I've only went a short distance and only for a few days, but I took what I thought I'd need and made a list of anything I'd like to have for next time. Like I found I need more levelers as I didn't have enough for this last campsite I was at. I had to sleep with my head downhill a bit.

He, he. Thanks ladies. I'll be ready. It's just getting the essential stuff loaded that I know I will need on this trip. LIke I know I need more extension cords cause each site shares a power box with the one next door, so there is a little distance from my parking spot to box etc. Plus need a patio mat so I am not out on the ground right from the door. That type of thing. Need some pots and pans (keep just minimum in house, no don't want to take them) and of course the eating stuff, one needs forks, knives, spoons, plates etc.... And the FOOD! Can't go without food and the smore's.
Yes, I am going to be coming home each day, twice. Need to bring my dogs back and drop them off and then pick them up, so I can grab somethng if I need it.
As to WalMart, have picked up a LOT of stuff there, but not all WalMarats are created equal. They do vary from region to region and this WalMart has a small RV dept. I've already picked up what I could there, hence trip to CW today. It's the only really stocked RV place up here. The dealer I bought my rig from just has a parts store, but no other accessories or just a bare minimum.
But I love the shopping part. So I am off to make my bed, get dressed and hit the road for CW. Have a great day everyone.

You should get either a surge protector and/or a voltage meter. You use the volt meter to check the electrical box at the CG BEFORE you plug your rig into it. A 30amp rig should have the minimum of 110 volts inside the rig - anything below that you're in danger of browning out your AC and ruining your compressor. At many CG's you should not run your AC at the same time as your microwave. You can buy a voltage meter at Walmart, HOme Depot, etc. Then at a RV supply (often Walmart has these) get an adapter that goes from a regular house plug to a 30 amp so you can check the electrical box. Remove the adapter and plug the meter into an outlet inside your rig. My volt meter shows if there's an open ground, if the box is wired correctly, etc.
