As you all know I was really sad at the passing of my dear Cat Felix on Monday. Tuesday my dear Sweet Aunt Rete headed to the Snoqualmie casino to spend the night so she would be there early for my mom's 77th birthday on Wednesday at the casino for lunch. So I zoomed up and took her out to lunch there and then played on the slot machines for several hours....I needed the break from my broken heart and swollen eyes from crying!! It helped alot and I am always happy being with my Aunty at the casino's!!

Wednesday everyone else showed up for Mom's birthday, my other Aunt & Uncle and cousin, Dan, Aunt Rete and Mom's hubby Jack for lunch. We were having a great time talking and stuffing our faces having a good time. I excused myself to go to the ladies room and was doing my thing when someone went into the next stall next to me and suddenly a hand was waving under the partition and I hear a voice 'hiya hiya", well silly me thought it was a Asian gal next to me wanting toilet paper so I handed a wad under the partition and hear the voice again say "hiya hiya" but would not take the toilet paper...I hear a pause and ask " ah...who are you?" and next I hear " It's your Mother!" Well thank God I was sitting down and already peed because I started laughing so hard and came out of the stall and Mom started to crack up too when I told her I thought she was some Asian woman wanting TP!!! Mom did not sound like Mom's voice!! We were in hysterics!!!! I did not know it was my Mom who had come in because I did not remember what shoes she was wearing lol. We laughed all the way back to the table and people were looking at us like we were nuts and then told the family what happened and had them all cracking up!! God I needed to laugh that day and I was laughing so hard my sides ached!!!

I REALLY needed to laugh and I did!!   great medicine for a broken heart!!

I am so sorry to hear about Felix----I somehow missed that post. I know what it's like to lose a kitty, as I lost my beloved Twitch last October, and it took me all winter to get more used to his not being in his favorite haunts. Big hugs to you, and get some more laugh time in----laughter truly is the best medicine for hurting hearts!

That was funny, Jenny. My crooked mind might have thought that Asian girl wanted more than TP!

Great story. And I'm so glad you had things to do to keep you busy. Along with laughter, something else that helps us. You deserved the laughter. Still do.

Vicki that reminded me of another true funny story. I met a gal at the Thousand Trails campground in Bend Oregon because she had a "Boomer" sticker on the back of her tow car. We are always looking for "Boomer" friends. We were chatting over some good Margaritas and Mary started to tell me about the day she headed over to the bathrooms to go take a shower. A mother and her daughter also headed to the showers and the mother and daughter did not notice which shower they were in and our friend chose the middle one of the three showers. Mary is minding her own business and suddenly hears the daughter say " dang mom I forgot my shampoo!" So the mother yells "here use mine' and passes it under the partition. The mother does not know it is my friend who is in the middle so when she passed the shampoo under, Mary passed the bottle over to the daughter and it was going back and forth and then the conditioner was going back and forth and all this time the Mother thinks she is passing it ONLY to her daughter. Well the mother finishes her shower and gets dressed and she is chatting with the daughter but comes around to the curtain she thinks her daughter is behind. Now Mary knows she is coming around so Mary just stands there naked as can be and when the mother pulled the curtain open she screamed in horror to see Mary not her daughter behind the curtain. Mary said she had so much fun because the mother and daughter did not realize she was in the middle. I about fell off the camp bench laughing so hard hearing this story!!

Yes laughter is the best to mend a broken heart and so glad I can laugh with loved ones, Felix will be missed but never forgotten he was such a love bug!! I'm just glad that Biff and Sashamio have each other so they are not totally alone in their grief.

I am truely glad I can laugh with my Mom because as we speak my younger Sister and my mom are feuding and it is breaking my heart that they will not kiss and make up and respect each other more and be nicer to each other. It is a sad situation. My Mom was not the greatest Mom growing up but then again I was a hyper Tasmanian devil so at least Mom and I have said we are sorry and live in the NOW and leave the past behind. Mom knows if she gets out of line I just say" I'm loading the bullits!" meaning I'm gonna shoot you! LOL   . I'm just glad we can laugh together and we did the other day because we laughed so hard our sides ached, it was a good day.

One of her birthday presents was a ceramic Turtle i bought in Mexico. She wanted a Turtle. So I sat it outside on her front porch and rang the doorbell. I said" Mom someone is at your door, I don't know who it is"....so she opened the door and there was the Turtle so she was happy I brought her back a Turtle. :D

Jenny - So sorry to hear the sad news, but happy to hear you also had some happy and funny times. I'm sure the other fur kids will get extra doses of love. My Spike is 17 years old now, only weighs 5 lbs, and doesn't seem to want to eat enough to keep a fly alive. She (yes, friends, Spike is a SHE) has had more life experiences and travels than most human folks and I want her to stick around forever!

Love your stories.

Evie

My mom and I laughed all the time (well, most of the time  ) and those are precious memories now! We had a lot of fun together. Because of my screwed up childhood and her addictions, I really didn't get to know her until I was 17. It was then that I learned what unconditional love was, no strings attached. I sure miss her!

I am so glad I can laugh with my Mom, just wish my sister could too. Today was a Happy Day for my daughter-in-laws baby shower and Mom and I were there and had a great time seeing my kids and grandkids and I enjoyed hugging a cousin of my kids who is going to have a baby this fall and was told she would never have children. A special doctor cleared out some scar tissue she had near her ovaries and 4 months later she was pregnant Hooray!!! :D
