Hope this isn't a no no but my husband, Bill, has been reading this site and he is so IMPRESSED with every one on it he wanted me to post this. He reads several RV forum sites and says "This is the best I've ever run across. The women are so great. They are supportive and when you ask a question they answer it. The guys on the other sites are into 'I'm better and my way is right.' and you never get a straight answer. And the women like to share things. No chest pounding. This is really great."
Any way thought I'd pass that on. I whole heartedly agree with him.

Thanks for sharing that! And no, definitely not a no-no - only real rule here is to respect each other - and I think by his observation, it's obvious we do that!
Now, if we women could just rule the world
(With the help of some of the men like your Bill, of course.)

Carol,
What a great compliment from Bill! He sure sounds like a keeper! Give a "hi" from me, please!

Bill must have read the Alfa forum!!! LOL Those guys do not know how to be polite! I love it here because it does not matter how many times a question is asked, someone steps up lady like and answers. We are VERY supportive to each other here. I'll have to get Dan to read our notes too, I know I talk about them all the time to him and he has met Martha, Jill, Carol ( Liz's SIL) Liz, Joella, Sharon, Sheila,Gill.

Tell him thanks for the compliments. He's so right. I used to go on the Open Roads Forum when I first started. When, especially as a female, when you asked a question the men were often arrogant and the tone was often snotty. Sort of, if you're asking you should get a man to show you or even better, let the man do it. On our forum no questions is too dumb and the ladies are all so helpful.

Carol, you have a very smart husband.
Karen, I remember the early years, I knew nothing and couldn't even ask an intelligent question. I lurked on a website for one year trying to understand something, anything. The men did try to out do each other and it got more technical and I became more confused. I was trying to understand what to do with my batteries over the winter and thought I would sell the rv after reading the men's answers. Then Grey Hawk posted "I park it in the field in the fall and go get it in the spring" My kinda man. lol My philosophy "KISS. Keep it simple stupid"

yeppers,...the same on the a-frame forum,...very technical and very "my way is best" man-attitude. I don't think they mean to be that way to the gals on the forum,... it just happens. Another nice thing about this forum.... no man telling us what to do. We know we are all smart enough to take care of ourselves. Kindness prevails,... respect is our rule. The only way to be.
Thank you ALL!

I love this forum too, gives me a place to go, since I can't physically
go anywhere with my rv, I still go virtually. But I do have a for real
day trip planned in November, think its the first weekend, I have to
start checking on that.

So what does that mean?????
Is Richard and Timmy just here to look pretty? Or can they fill in as servers??? We can send one of them to get a couple of beers off the wall.
Carol obviously has an extremely intelligent husband.....He did after all find her. And he also knows other great women when he sees them.
Yeppers, he's a keeper he is. He's a good boy... LOLOLOLOLOL
Ok enough being silly I took my NyQuil and it's time my tired butt was crawling into bed.
Night everybody!!! smoochies! hehehe

I know the feeling of men wanting to make women feel inferior when it comes to RV's. This evening I drove to Mitchell to look at a 31' '99 Coachman Royal 5er...found it on Craigs List. I had called the owners a couple of days ago and at that time a construction worker had looked at the rig and wanted to buy it. Last night the owner called me back and told me that the prospective buyer hadn't been able to get a loan. I had asked the owner why they were selling and he told me that he was 78 years old and didn't feel that he should be driving down the road hauling it anymore. So after work went to look at it..DH couldn't go along..just says go find what you want and he'll get it home (note: I've already bought three rigs myself and made him do this)..boy did I ever get the "dumb little lady" routine from the owner. He was shocked when I climbed up on the roof, was laying on the ground checking under it...looking at tires (one was cracked), asked about a little crinkle on the body and why didn't didn't they have the refrigerator running. I had checked out the price on NADA and it was below the book price. So asked him if he was willing to sign a waiver if the refrigerator didn't work if he would repair it....he wasn't impressed, but kept trying to show me all the upgrades and the central vac, etc. The interior was in mint condition and had a lot of storage and I actually like the interior color scheme. The entire time I was looking at the unit his wife sat on the couch crotching and didn't say a word...that makes me nervous too. When I directed a question to her he would answer it. The only thing that I am still not sure about the interior is that it has a table and chairs instead of a booth....still kind of like the idea of that extra sleeping space that a booth allows. It's already been converted to a gooseneck hookup which we need since our truck is also used to pull the horse trailer. But it's already 10 years old. Tomorrow my boss wants me to come to the main office in Sioux Falls so I am going to take a look at 28' '02 Cougar that is for sale on my way home. I have talked to the owners and they are selling because they are in the process of starting to adopt another child and need to free up some cash. I've been talking to the wife over the phone on this one and for some reason I feel more comfortable with her....don't feel that I'm getting the stupid little lady treatment. In the mean time I'm trying to get ready to go camping over the weekend. Any whooo Carol....it's nice to know that some men think we have a brain in our heads.

OH NO!
How could I forget you Sharlotte & JIm!! I'm sorry, I did not mean to over look you two! We had a delightful time out to dinner in Baton Rouge with ya'll. One of these days we'll get back over to the camp . Mama Mabel is doing better since Daddy died..Miss Jeannette ( my sister) has been heading for the hills with her boyfriend every time Mama got her feathers ruffled out of shape but she's calming down now. We are STILL trying to get all that weight we gained from her cooking off!!
