Here it is: http://canineandabled.wordpress.com/201 ... e-history/

My new travel blog, "Hitting the road with Brain Injury riding shotgun!" posted today for the first time! I loved the ideas for names I was given on here (thank you!!!), and planned to use the most popular one chosen on the other post, but when I started typing, this came out.

I only have the introduction posted on there so far. I got very cognitively exhausted today (got lost twice coming home from the supermarket today!) so I had to stop writing for a while. Looking forward to hitting the road and posting about our journey and all the wonderful surprises our new RV life hold for us!

Your blog is off to a great start, as is your new life, Kim. It's no wonder you were cognitively exhausted after writing that introduction....inspiring to all of us who only think we are challenged.

Kimberly, what a great job! Once again, you inspire me with your fortitude and strength.
Sarah is so lucky to have you for her Mom!
I can't wait to read more.

That's awesome, Carolyn! Is this the correct website (I looked it up in case Kimberly wanted to peek around...)

Lol... sometimes cognitive dysfunction can be funny... I.e., there was one time when I was trying to hair spray my 'do' and couldn't figure out why it was weighing my hair down so much....and what IS that smell?? I looked at the can and was mortified to see that I'd just doused myself with Lysol! :P

Thank you, Mitch. Your words truly humble me. I'm just surviving the best that I can. Oh my goodness, I'm the one who's lucky to have Sarah!!! I always joke with her that when I grow up I want to be just like her! ;-) She's amazing, and makes me strive to be a better person/mom/witness; I'm honored to be the one she calls "Mommy!"

At least your hair was sanitized - no bacteria or viruses!

Wow! That IS amazing, Corolyn! I would most definately be interested in connecting with her. I have such a passion to help raise awareness of brain injury. The BANJ utilizes me here for speaking events, and I would love to be able to contribute in TN as well! Thank you for sending her my link!

Yeah, it smelled great, too! Lol...still get a kick out of that one! ;-) Then there was the time when I first got my license back after being seizure free for two years... I was so excited to drive again, I volunteered to do the grocery shopping (it's amazing how the littlest things in life give you the most pleasure when you have them taken away for a time!). I was so excited and totally prepared. Grocery list in hand, service dog by my side, and fully rested for my first solo outing. I got and paid for my groceries and loaded them into my car. Had a bit of a celebration with Dewey (my service dog). He was thrilled for me, too. Pulled out of the parking lot and headed for home...about five minutes away. When I found myself crossing the Delaware Memorial Bridge, I realized that perhaps I'd taken a wrong turn... I ended up in Delaware without realizing it (I have no time conception at all---a week is the same as a month, same as a year, ect...) so it didn't dawn on me that I'd been driving a really, really long time! Good thing I didn't have ice cream!! ;-) (btw... I have a GPS and don't do that "much" anymore...I only missed two (local) turns yesterday, and Sarah was pretty quick to correct me!) ;-) Life with brain injury----it's never dull!

Oh, Carolyn ... how I love serendipity!

Kim, your life's journey builds my faith and re-skews (it's always skewed!) my perspective. I've bookmarked your blog and I plan to follow your journey here (in this forum) and there. Maybe one day our paths will cross in real time.

Thank you, Mitch!

Btw... I had a home visit with my social worker today (Amy is sort of like a personal assistant...she helps me with multiple-step things that need to be done, makes appts., reminds me of deadlines/tasks to be completed, fills out forms/applications, and keeps my financial stuff in order). I told her about you gals and this forum, and she was thrilled that I was getting this type of support---so thank you on behalf of Amy, too! ;-)

Yes, Isn't that just great!?

Well, I'm so glad that my experiences bolster your faith...after all, that's what we're here for, to lift each other up and support one another through this thing we call, "life". I hope you enjoy the blog and following our journey ;-) I'd love it if we could meet in real time....how cool would that be?!
