Well gals we dusted off all the sand and spider webs off the RV and fired up the engine and the Summer Journey has begun! We headed to Palm Desert Ca for two nights. Cats did well traveling and noone got car sick this time. Felix did well sitting in his bed or in my lap so he did just fine. They were not happy that they did not get to wander though once we arrived and will really be pissy in the morning when Dan and I take off to Camping World 80 miles away!!! I guess he wanted to drain the hot water tank of all the salt and was shocked when he opened the door to see it has been leaking and was rusty and the plug was kaput so we need a new plug . Glad we had a empty water jug so I have to fill it with water and bring inside so we have water. Bathrooms are right behind us so that's easy we'll just use theirs and not ours but have to get this problem fixed before we get to the Reno area because we will be Boondocking at the Sparks Nugget casino so we can visit with my cousins close by.

I was sad to have to put everything away and lock it up in the casita, will miss seeing my favorite cactus bloom. Will miss sitting outside on the new patio. Will miss the neighbors and really miss all our friends who stay in the Foothills in the winter that we spend alot of time with. So many of our Boomer friends are buying lots or renting every winter now and we have lots of get togethers and love our movie days. Costs Dan and I $12 total to get in the movies and get a bucket of popcorn EACH and share a X-large drink. Can't beat that!!

Dan had a slew of RV driving school students and Linda was one of them but I did not get to meet her because I was at a ladies Lunchen at my favorite Restaurant Julieanna's Patio Cafe

So Palm Desert is our first stop, who knows what Dan has planned from Palm Desert to Sparks Nevada when we arrive on Thursday. We will arrive in Eastern WA on May 13th.
Dan has already been called for Jury duty on May 31 for 2 wks....they have called him 3 yrs in a row!!!

Does not look like we will be able to catch up with Sharron because we will be driving 160 miles in the Jeep tomorrow. We leave Monday

Happy Trails to you......hope your adventures start to turn around....broken water tanks/heaters are exciting but not what we all had in mind :) I am sure if there is good stuff to be found you will find it. I always tink about the wonderful people I already know and believe that there are even more out there I have not even met yet! :)

Awww Jenny, wish you had called me when you found the bad plug....There's an RV place right here in Sun City that carries just about anything you would need. I could have gotten the plug or any other parts for you on Sat and run it up to you today. Dang, now you've got to drive all the way to San Bernadino. I didn't realize it was 80 miles there, doesn't seem that far, but then I'm usually on a motorcycle on that stretch of the 10. So sorry we're not going to be able to get together. We're not usually that far apart but we just can't seem to get together! :(

Oh well, maybe next winter! I know for sure where you'll be! Travel safe and an extra hug for Felix.

Always good to hear from you, Jenny! I know how much you've enjoyed your new patio set up. It's gorgeous and I can see how you can't wait to return! I'm happy to hear that you are enjoying your casita neighbors more and more. That's what it's all about! Good for you guys!
Praying traveling mercies for you, Dan and those furbabies!

I know you hate leaving the Casita, but you'll be so happy seeing family and all you've got planned - and that'll make returning to it that much sweeter. Hope fixing the water is easy. Those things are no fun. But couldn't you put the bypass on the water heater and still use water in your rig (just not hot) until it's fixed? Just a thought if it doesn't get fixed right away.

Safe travels.

Gosh, Jenny - so close, yet so far! I would have liked to catch up with you again, too! We are passing ships since I'm leaving for Laughlin in the morning. Hope you get running hot water again soon and have a safe trip north.

Safe travels, Jenny. I'm glad the kitties are doing okay and not getting sick. Get that water heater fixed up and out of the way and hopefully the rest will be smooth sailing!
