Depth of snow on April 29, 2010.
Approach to the pond through the beaver-harvested trees.
Closer to the pond.
Closeup of beaver harvested trees near pond.
Pond's edge in the sunshine.
Excavated turtle's nest on edge of pond dike. Hatched, or eaten by coyotes??
Little brook that passes under the dirt road to the pond.
Ground pine, or Princess Pine, growing on hiking trail.
New service berry (Juneberry) leaves.
Here are this year's baby Larch needles coming out!
A jungle of mosses and lichens on our trail.
Heading home.
Where we have come from.
Baby lilacs!! I DO have a few, after all!
And that was Molly's and my walk on April 29, 2010, after most of our snow had melted in the warmth of the sun. It took me a while to try out this new way to post pictures, and now let's see how they look!
