I hope none of you "southern belles" got tangled up with those tornadoes in Mississippi and Louisiana. I know there are a few of you who are traveling around the south.

I was wondering the same thing, hope everyone is safe, I know we have
some ladies that live in that direction but not sure how close to the
tornado they are. Hoping they will check in soon.

We were under a tornado watch till 1pm today, but we are fine in SW Louisiana. Strong winds hit about 4am, the loud noise started Weatherby barking and woke me up, my first thought was tornado, but it was just very loud, strong winds. Woke up this morning to dark skies and evidence of light sprinkles on the walkway out front, then the sun came out and was a beautiful day. Thanks for thinking of us.

Had heavy thunderstorms here in North Alabama - but where we were didn't get any of the tornados - although I believe there were some sighted south of here - and we were under a watch most of the afternoon and evening. Now, it's all moving out and by tomorrow morning, we should even get some sun. One time today when I tried to get Peaches out for a walk, we got drenched. The last walk, we did good - took a flashlight and she got a little time - and we got back before the rain came back. Just luck.

I was just about to report that we were okay here in north AL when two tornados were reported on the ground in Albertville and Geraldine, small communities about 30 or 40 miles from Huntsville. We are NOT in the projected path of either. Seems to be headed toward Ft Payne, away from us. Think we have a few more hours of watch for the night but chances for anything developing have diminished greatly in our immediate area.
There was some damage in town from the thunderstorms but as Beth mentioned, no tornados. Worse we have in town is some downed trees, scattered power outages and small hail. No damage or power problems reported on the mountain where Beth and Jean are staying.

Thanks for this report, Sarah.....I've been thinking of you all all night long. WHEW, at least for this time. Let's hope the entire summer will NOT be more of the same for those tornado areas. Now I can finish my coffee in peace!

Good-morning! Beautiful outside this morning, couldn't ask for better. BUT last night was another story. What a terrible night, not much sleep here, too noisey, with winds, power went out, etc. I usually just sleep through such, but somehow, couldn't last night. At my age, I figure if its my time, its my time, whatever, say my prayers and go to sleep.
Maybe it was the coffee to late yesterday afternoon, a no, no anyway. There was a tornado just south of me,(11 miles), and warnings for all of this area until 3 or so. Haven't heard this morning, if any damage anywhere. Best get my self ready for church and someone will know something.

Have a Great day everyone, each day is truley a GIFT
Carol

Sun's out here now - all past. Yep, that's the storm I mentioned being south of us in my post, Sarah - didn't hear of anyone injured there - so I hope that's true.

I missed the local news this morning. There were several people still trapped in one of those little communities when I went to bed around 1:00AM. What I did hear of the injured was none believed to be life threatening. Schools in both areas will be closed Monday due to damage.
We were really lucky not to have anything worse last night.
