Now, how could we not comment!
Your daughter was a beautiful bride, handsome groom, too. And the setting at Houmas House was perfect! Somehow I missed the ones of the Mother of the Bride.
I'll bet you need a rest now. Are they still moving to Seattle in June?

Thank you Vicky for your reply. Yes, she and Rob are moving June 10th. Mama didn't take any pics of herself, hahaha, but the photographer has some of us, only he hasn't posted them yet. I will post some when I get them.

Yes Liz,
After I posted them, I realized I hadn't identified her.
I am still flying high, absolutely nothing went wrong! To be such a big event, we were sure something would go wrong, but it didn't. A friend and I were talking about 2 weeks before the event and I jokingly told her I could have planned and executed World War III quicker than planning this wedding.
The thing I am most proud of was that we didn't have a Bridezilla (just let her out of the bag one time) and that was when they messed up Candi's dress on the final fitting. But she handled it in style, put her foot "firmly down", and they corrected the mistake. David's Bridal is still standing in New Orleans.
The only remark I can think of that sums it up, is "Thank you Lord!!!"
Thank all of you for your kind remarks. I know I am going to need all the help of the "sistahs" when she moves in June. She lived at home with us until she was 26 when she moved to New Orleans. She is my only child and I know I am going to have trouble dealing with her moving so far away. So bear with me if I come on and post some whiny posts.

Since I'm new here and still getting to know everybody, I just wanted to say your daughter does indeed look like you and she was a beautiful bride. Great looking groom too. The pictures wre beautiful and to a winter weary "northerner" they looked likek heaven. Such a beautiful spot.
I am an only child too, and I lived with my parents my entire life. We were one close famlly. Now of course they have gone on to a far greater "home" so I am here alone. My mother was from Washington. A beautiful state.
So now you can rest up and then hop in your rig and head up there to visit once she moves. After all that's what we have RV's for.

Wow, that looks like a HUGE wedding .... What is Houmas House? is that owned in your family or is it a public place?
Yes, she is very lovely. Were there candid shots too? I always like them better than formal shots.
Now you can relax,...
And say "job well done!" Mother-of-the-bride!

SIGH! Such beautiful pictures of a beautiful girl who looks just like Mama!
I know it will be hard for you when your baby leaves the nest and begins her own life----I am still getting over my last baby, my son, driving down this driveway in a U-Haul towing his car when he was 18 years old, heading to Orlando, FL, to live in the house I have down there that had been my father's place. I truly thought I was going to die as I believed my reason for living was over. I have never been so depressed before or since, and may I never sink to those depths again.
But here I am, some 13 years later, still giving in to those feelings of uselessness now and then. However, when I retire, I will be able to travel to them, whether they like it, or not! Visits now and then will be so wonderful! Neither of my kids I raised are married as yet, but are living with wonderful future spouses who, I am hoping, will become parents to my grandkids as soon as they tie the knots! We have to remember that we spent our whole adult lives getting these fledglings ready to leave our nest, and, as is the cruelty of nature, just when we get that skill mastered, off they go, if we did our jobs right! Redefining who we are, or who we have become, is the skill to work on now. I intend to return to my former nomadic self with my truck and trailer!
Thanks for sharing your pics, and I am looking forward to seeing the mother of the bride--the planner of that extravaganza--in some pictures!
