So, have had a busy week so far...Before we left the Ft. Fisher/Wilmington, NC area, Ernie & I did some sight-seeing and of course went out to lunch for my Birthday.....
The USS North Carolina at Wilmington
While there, the Peacemaker, Tall Ship was in port...took a tour and photos..
That was Monday....on Tuesday, we went to Old Ft. Fisher....lots of Civil War History about the fort..most of it is now under water, but some of the battlements still stand...
Then it was out to Lunch for my Birthday, a day early, as we were leaving the next day for VA.
And now, we're all set up at Lunga Park on the Quantico Marine Corps Base, VA....Nice campground with views of a large lake.
Us and the MH are the only ones here right now....the sites a clumped in 2 or 3s, with tenting spread widely in between....lots of wild life, i.e. deer, and wild geese...etc.
Our view out the window...
Tomorrow we're going to tour the Marine Corps Museum and then have supper with family friends here at the campground...we'll be here until Monday, when we head to the "home base campground" for the summer...
Enjoy!!!
