Well gang, I'm still thinking, reading the various posts, getting ideas etc., enoying the laughs (loved last weekends campfire, who's building one the weekend?) and also browsing. Online, off line etc. Mostly online right now. Thoughts have come down to either a small used MH if I can find one within my budget range or a small TT. TT choices are now narrowed dow to three possbile ones. Keystone Passport Ultra Lite 195, Rockwood Mini Lite 1809S (lik Cedar's) or one of the smaller Sportsman models. Have seen Rockwood and Passport but havenl't been over to see the Sportsman yet. The dealers are scattered in the 50-60 mile range rom me in three different directions. I have one two miles up the road here, but there inventory is small and all biggies right now. For awhile there I thought maybe they were going to go down with the economy, but they are still here. All three have similar floorplans, so now it comes down to weight, features, etc.and the all important price. For example there is a $500 difference between two dealers for the same model trailer (Keystone). The higher dealer being a bit closer and easily accessible down the exway. When you live in the northern areas like I do, you have to travel a ways to get to RV dealers. Maybe Cedar and some of you in upper New York are like that too. And then the weather decided to go back to winter last week for a couple of days, so......

Sue,
I considered a Passport, but it was heavy. The size was the same as the Rockwood, and I liked the storage a LOT, but the weight was just about 1000 too much. Also, the bunk bed over the main bed made it a bit tight in the lower bed. I didn't like that. But overall it was a great rig. With the truck you probably have the tow power to pull it safely. If you get a MH you will want a toad? It's a fun process, isn't it?

That's what I am researching now, the weight issues among other things. So today I am going down to the one dealer and look over the Passport. The other two are at different dealers in opposite directions, so will have to tackle them one at a time later. And of course I have to browse the RV Store. It's a Camping World, LOTS of goodies. I want to take the weight info right off the trailers themselves and not from the brochures. That's a good reference point but each model is different. But the Rockwood keeeps pulling on me.
I've got about a week and a half left before I start back to work, so my time will be more limited then cause I will only be off two days a week like most people who work. Pluls if I get a new truck, there will be some difference there too. If I know the trailer weights, etc. I can make sure the two vehicle will fit. So my notebook and I are hitting the road in a while here.

Glad you are out and about, checking on all your options. I looked for a year and a half before finding "the one", although I had it narrowed down to some type of motorhome from the beginning. Just couldn't find the size I thought I wanted till this one came up on Craig'slist. Like Cedar, I'm probably going to be more of a camper as opposed to a traveler. I just like being in my MH no matter where it's parked. Well, almost any where.... :D
