I finally got around to loading some pics I took while we were at Niblett's Bluff Park in Vinton La.

The water was high and flowing very fast.

GREAT pictures of a very pretty site, Vickie, BUT, those two fisherpeople need life vests on out on that dock! :)

Thanks for showing us!

What a great place to stay. Your photos are wonderful too.
Did anyone catch any fish?

No, Sarah, nobody caught anything, the water was moving so fast from upstream releases and strong winds. But they had fun trying.

Soos, the first time we went camping there, I "suggested" to Ronnie that I strap him to his chair so he wouldn't lose his balance and fall out if he caught a fighting fish  , he looked at me like I was crazy. Said if he's going in the water, he doesn't want to be tied to a boat anchor! But you are right, they should have life vests on.

Carold, you are bad, just plain bad!

That's a nice looking park. You'll have to let me know sometime when you are going and I will try to get a site. I can not catch fish with the best of them. I didn't think I would be able to fish at our upcoming rally in Texas because I wasn't going to pay for an out of state license. I was looking at the web site about fishing licenses and saw where people 65 and over with a Louisiana license don't need a Texas license. Now I can not catch fish in Texas too. It will be salt water and I know even less about fishing in salt water but I did catch a Flounder one time. I was in Florida with a bunch of friends and we were getting ready to BBQ some chicken. I took a chicken tail and put it on a hook just for the heck of it. I was really surprised when I actually caught a Flounder.

Yikes, that water was really up! Nope, not good fishin' water. Looked like a great CG. Thanks for sharing.

Martha, I was thinking the same thing when you go camping! It would be a shame to go all the way to AR just to meet you! Maybe some of the other ladies around could meet up too. As long as they have a place to fish that Ronnie can get to, he's happy. As long as he doesn't catch fish that I have to clean, I'm happy!

Vicki, I don't know much about campgrounds with places to fish because I have always gone to Toledo Bend. I have a friend that has a camp trailer permanently parked in a private camp that rents by the year. That's were my Sister and I usually go unless she makes me drive to the North State Park so she can swim. The place we usually go to is on the same road that goes to the Pleasure Point campground. I did go to a campground on the Red River near Colfax. It has a nice pier and boat docks but I can't remember if you could get on it with a wheel chair. I didn't catch any fish there either. Since it's near Alexandria I bet it stays booked on the weekends in the summer.

Thanks for sharing. Is that a private campground?
