Who uses it, how do you use it and is it complicated? Was recommended to me by a friend on Pogo Games. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Mozilla's Firefox was my first choice when I had my HP laptop,... IE was too unstable on that. Well, guess I should say that the HP was the unstable one. Now that I've got my new Toshiba I'm back to IE. Biggest reason is that I can move the photos on a blog post easier prior to actually posting.

Some say Firefox has less of a risk of intrusion. I don't really know. The mechanics of each are similar. I like both.

Go to http://www.mozilla.com and download it for free. It just replaces Windows Internet Explorer and has better virus protection. I still use Yahoo as my home page and I use Yahoo for my email. Unless you use their homepage you won't even notice the difference.

IE crashed all the time with us. We switched to Firefox and it's been good to us. carold

We've used Firefox (which is a Mozilla product online) for about 7 or 8 years...ever since it first came out...Ernie got the idea from Kim Komando who is on the radio and online. Yes, the security is better....never has crashed on us....If you have any other questions on details, let me know and I'll have Ernie go into more details on it....He's the resident "expert" here on it.... ;)

I use both- you can make either your default. I recommend Firefox also. The tabbed format on IE, and many other changes IE has made in the last couple years, were copying things Firefox was already doing. You won't have any problem changing over.

I feel like the odd woman out here. I used to love Mozilla Firefox and used it for quite awhile. It started locking up on me, among other problems, so I asked my son, the computer guru (self proclaimed geek) :ugeek: what he recommended. His profession is computers so I trust him immensely! He said he likes Google Chrome, so I installed it and have been using it since last summer. I love it more ;) No problems yet!

Here's a link to a good comparison of the top 10 browsers. I'd vote for Firefox, too - have never liked IE.

I also use firefox. Not anything to the transition. Safer I believe. I also listen/read Kim Komando, the Digital Godess, lol

I use Firefox because my son put it on my computer. He just does things without asking. It has been ok except it keeps me from posting pictures sometimes. It probably has something to do with my security settings but I don't know enough about it to change anything.

Ok, as everyone is touting Foxfire vs IE, I downloaded it and so far I'm doing ok with learning where everything is, but I do have a couple questions.

When I'm on a website and I want to send a shortcut to that site to my desktop, how do I accomplish that?

Also if I am on a website and I want to "send" a link to it to someone, it wants to use MS Office to send my mail instead using of my Comcast email. Is there a place to select/type in what I want to use for my default email?

Lenora...asked Ernie your questions.....he says they are do-able using the "right click" button on your mouse.....I don't use the right click thingy much, but that's where he says it is.....If you need any more help, let me know and I'll have him get on here and do his own typing.... :x
