Thanks Janice. As I watched the video, seeing the parks I have been to brought back great memories. Would like to see all our great country has to offer. Just need to pack up the MH, dogs and head out!!

I will have to pass this on to others. We get in free already as long as Kodie is with us. She qualifies for the Disability access lifetime pass.

After I posted this ... it dawned on me that it's only the entrance fee ... not camping fees. Such a cheapskate I am!

One thing about getting old; I get in free all the time and 50% off camping fees.

Isn't there talk of doing away with the free passes for Seniors at the parks?

Yeah, but what you save on the entrance fee might give you another 1/2 nites camping......'course you'll have to pack up and leave at midnite!

Sure hope they DON'T do away with the senior passes to the parks. My brother-in-law says that pass is the bargain of the year(s). We sure have enjoyed ours!!

When my BF got his last year, we just had to go a few hundred miles out of our way so he could use it....this from a man who throws a temper tantrum if he has to go around the block 'cause he missed his turn! Sheesh!

No, not doing away with it in Nat.Parks. They are talking about cutting the 50% discount to 10% in national forest parks that are run by commercial vendors. They claim that because there will soon be a lot more seniors that they can't afford to give the 50%. They are only getting about a million dollars each year at the bigger parks; poor babies.
We will still get the 50% at parks run by the forest service. I will not be going to any of the vendor parks. If we all did that maybe they would decide that 50% is better than 0%.

It really depends upon the district I think. we are going to be campground hosts at a vendor park as you called it and we have already received word that the discount will still be accepted.....at 50% so I would check out the individual campgrounds or national forests and see what is being accepted and not just boycott all of them

I think the Forest Service has not yet made the decision to cut the discount down to 10% but you can bet it will be happening. National Forests....hmmmm...doesn't that mean that all us citizens own those?

Earlier this month the Forest Service made the decision not to change the discount policy. It will remain at 50%.
