Hi everyone - we have been without internet connection for the last week so trying to let everyone know we are alive and well
We are in campground again in Guadalajara and borrowing connection for another camper. So will try to keep it brief. I have updated my blog with some posts today. Lots of neat pictures from Ajijic, the campground we were in and just general things. Don't feel I should intrude too much so won't load anything to photobucket.

I'm going to have to do some serious catching up on your blog while I have internet this month. Loved all 3 posts I just read. I love doing tours, so the tequila one was fascinating for me. You sampled before the alcohol - did either tour let you sample the tequila like beer tours do?

Question - after being so used to your larger A - how has Jenny felt for both of you - you should really have an idea after this length of time. And are you glad for the smaller rig for going back to Mexico?

There was lots of sampling on the tequila tours - both of them. They'd give you as much as you wanted - both during the tour at different stops and at the end. The Driver doesn't like the taste and for the past year or so alcohol in any form kills my stomach - so we just watched the others indulge.........poop!
Jennie is getting a little small - it is easy to go to big but harder to go to smaller. The Driver however is in love with her - especially when we're off the beaten path and going through the smaller towns on the roads or lack of - she is much easier to drive. Just coming into this campground - very narrow with lots of big trees hanging over the road -
She takes the topes easier - and doesn't sway as much when going over rough roads. He has his chair and I have the dinnet seat - no walking around room. And fixing dinner is a one person job. So is cleaning up after - The bathroom bothers both of us - very small. But again it is the "what we are used to" problem. After all 7 of us lived in a 24 foot class A for over a year in 1978 when we took the trip to South America.
Jennie is easier to fit into campgrounds. A couple we've stayed at would have been hard to park the Alfa in. The biggest thing in her favor is we can run the air conditioning even if we only have 15amp electricity - the Alfa NEEDS at least 30amp - One reason we are thinking of heading North already is I have a hard time with the heat and humidity.
Any way - next year you guys need to go to the mainland. Much prettier.

I'm not sure how much tequila sampling I could do - and none if driving. I didn't have trouble with narrower roads because I like back roads, BUT I don't think I could do a Class A on them. I don't think I'd like a class A on our back roads. But that's me. I can understand the problems sizing down has been - but can also see the advantages. I don't have anyone else to help cook or clean - so those wouldn't matter. Small works great for me Right now my plans are to go back to the Baja next year. I so much enjoyed doing nothing on the beaches - think I could do a winter of that again.
