travel information wanted

will be in Mesquite NV for a family reunion end of March then we plan on going to Albuquerque then points east meandering up to Iowa. The Maps sends us back to Vegas to probably Bullhead and across I don't want to go back to Vegas so was wondering how the road from Kanab UT. down to can't remember looked at the maps yesterday any way any of you been that way what is the road like? We tow a 36 foot 5th wheel

I've traveled from Albuquerque east and north and never done so by traveling through Nevada - so yes, you can do so - not sure why the map would want to take you that way?
