The New Adventures of Ali & Ron

Postby ali1257 » Mon Feb 08, 2010 2:48 pm

Well Ladies...we are embarking on a new adventure. Ron and I accepted the positions with Funtastic Shows (www.funtasticshows.com) and will begin our new jobs the middle of March. We will be working and traveling with the carnival for six months. We begin the middle of March and will work through the end of September. We will cap off our travels with a two week stay in Lewiston, ID spending the time with our son, daughter-in-law and grandsons.

What will we be doing? I will be doing office work and selling tickets. Ron will be doing maintenance, set up, tear down and rides. We are excited with this new job and anxious to see how the Lord will be working in our lives.

We know the first carnival is in Puyallup, WA at the Spring Fair. We don't have the full itenerary yet but do know we will be three weeks in Salem, OR in August and will be at the big Puyallup Fair in September. As soon as we have the full itenerary I will post it. Who knows, maybe we will meet some of you along the way.

That's all the news for now. I will write more later.

Congratulations, Ali. You never know when someone is going to run away with the carnival  Sounds like fun, and a great way to see parts of the country. I'm sure that members of this Forum will be near enough to visit-maybe you can get them a date with one of the clowns  or a ride on the ferris wheel. If any of the booths have flamingos, I'm sure one of the gals will participate. Looking forward to pics, if you have time. Don't think we've had anyone from the Forum workkamp at a carnival. carold

Sounds like great fun! When you get to Salem, let me know. I'll bop across town and we can have coffee or something. If you need any information about the area beforehand just let me know. I can check out rv parks or whatever.

Sounds like it will be a lot of fun. When I was a kid in Seattle we had neighbors that were retired carnies. Once you got past the kind of rough edges of some of their friends, they were a wonderful group of people and so interesting. And how great was it to know someone who could "eat fire" and spit fire for 3 or 4 feet. I was (and still am) easy to amuse.
