I told you gals about my friend Mel who can carve anything! The past couple of years he has been carving on wood bark. So here are my brag photo's of his work. Mel only collects dead or down wood, he never takes the bark off live trees. Some of his work is from Sequoia trees.

I so admire wood carvers, his work is beautiful.
I once knew a woodcarver, his name was Olin, he taught a class at the community
college and was also one of the bus drivers (back in Colorado) and he wanted some
of our aspen from our property and he gave us 3 chairsaws, 2 brandnew in the box
in exchange for the wood. He wanted it fresh and to seal himself and then he used
it for his students in class. He made the most beautiful life like birds out of that
wood and some of his work sells in gift shops.
I love your friends work, especially the feathers, I think they are fabulous. Does
he have a website? It would be fun to do some shopping.

I'm not sure Mel has a website but if he does I will post it. His wife Carolyn is equally as talented and used to make felted hats and made me one. She makes some nice notecards and other things and she taught me how to make scrubbies out of netting to wash my dishes. I'll see them on Tuesday and Carolyn is going to teach me how to make "Hand N Foot" card holders for when you are playing cards. I'll later post a photo of that too. Their biggest complaint is they have too many crafts and overloaded in the RV!! LOL I told them now you know why I have a casita ( tiny house) built in AZ.
