What to do, what to do????

Because of my trip to Florida my month ends here on the 17th and since we're not meeting in Port Lavaca until the first week of April I have to do something for just two weeks. If I stay here the weekly rate is $210 so that would be more than what I pay monthly. If I move over the Schreiner Park it would be $294 for two weeks. If I go visit Birdie in Mercedes TX it would be $315 for two weeks OR I could go ahead to Port Lavaca and stay two weeks at the little RV park behind where we're going to boondock which would be $250 plus electric. Thought about boondocking on the beach at Port Lavaca but I would HAVE to dump before the end of three weeks. I've got myself thoroughly confused. What to do, what to do? And who says life fulltiming is easy? Such huge decisions.

Hey Karen, there's park at the other end of town in Port L that lets you dump and fill with water for a nominal fee.
Can't remember the name, but it's right on the water. That could stretch out your boon docking options. D.

Could do both couldn't you? Boondock on the beach one week and stay in the campground the other week? Or just say the heck with it , grab a site now and stay in the campground for the entire time. You would then be in the position to greet each Sistah as they get there. Do like Liz did and on the first day/night of the GTG have a pot of chili ready with some Italian bread! And wine of course, can't forget that!!!

Karen, I boondock alot, so my choice would to be go and boondock and IF you have to dump, go over to the park nearby and dump. The most I was told the price for dumping was a wee less then a nights stay. I stayed the night, of course, that price took me back a bit, but I considered the area too. I'm used to maybe 5 dollars.
Boondocking on the water sounds great to me. Let us know what you decide?
Safe and Happy travels,
Carol

Or you could come to Port A to see me. There is a state park here, Mustang Island and also one in Rockport called Goose something. TX state parks are usually pretty reasonable. I'll be here til Feb 17.

Karen, while in the Corpus Christi area we explored North Padre National Park, which has a campground just above the dunes there....parking spots with, I think, electric only, but it also has a dump station and "Fresh Water' Fill Station....real convenient to the campground, like right there, also has bathouse with nice showers....I want to say, the price is $8/day, but you can look it up on the laptop....Mesquite Campground,I think the name of it is....very near the North Padre Island National Park Visitors' Center....and within 15-20 miles of Port A.....Check it out....we think it would be a perfect solution to your situation....
OR....you can boondock on the beach right below the campground for a fee if about $12/yr. and still use the dump station and fresh water fill station...just a thought....If you have the Passport America a.k.a Golden Age Passport you get in FREE!!!

Of course you could go ahead and pay for the month right where you are if it's that reasonable. Less than $210 a month? Then you could start the trip with empty gray and black tanks. Boondock for the week at the beach and when done go home. ??? Wouldn't that work?
