recieved this email from our youngest (40yr old) son the other day - first let me say everything is fine -
Cameron is his step son - haven't heard from him for a while until I got this:

"I needed to buy a new truck this month the GMC decide to show that it had the power to make fire a few weeks back - happy new year. I have been advised to get rid of her but we go back about 260,000 miles or so. she will get a new heart hopefully soon. In the mean while recovery is good. We took Cameron down the boat this week end his Grandfather on his dads side passed this weekend so the boat was a good distraction. I felt pretty dumb walking around with a cane with my young wife and kid but what can you do."

Fire??? Recovery??? Cane???? well finally got hold of him - just the wiring in engine burnt - wasn't a real big deal - he has already arranged for a new engine.
He had surgery on his knee a couple of weeks ago. It has been bothering him for years, so he is using a cane for awhile.
KIds - aren't they wonderful.

I can imagine the thoughts and panic going through your mind until you got in touch with him.

I guess when we teach kids that we know it all when they are very young, the lesson is learned, and they think we really DO know everything! Typical email! And enough to make a mom panic a bit!

Got a good chuckle from that one. Little rat! Does anyone remember a skit or something on TV where the wife says something like, the mailbox wasn't damaged by the fire truck. What fire truck? The one that came with the ambulance. And so on until it turns out the entire house is gone and all kinds of ensueing tradgedies come out.
