For today...

Not a whole lot planned. Might go find the Ranch market and K-mart. I can't stand the taste of the water here so we're gonna pick up a few gallon jugs of water. I need sugar for my coffee. Also need to get some dish soap. Really wish there was a community camp sink here. But with 99% of the ppl here being in rv's there's not really any call for it. Except for tent nuts like us, of course!

We made it thru the nite, obviously. I am dry for the most part, lol. Everything is still standing. Hopefully all this wind and rain will be over soon? Mom says she thinks Saturday will be nice. Need to do some major housecleaning in the screen house. We've got enough space in here to both sit at the table and to cook at the end of it but not much else. The ceiling to the screen house is holding up much better. One small leak or two that mom will spray soon. Sitting here in t-shirt and sweats and the only real cold part of me are the toes of my right foot, lol. Mom says her fingers are cold. Wind is pickin up and the whippin tarps and tent fly is scarin the stuffin outta poor Shade. :?

Got a few drips on us from the top center spot of the screen house but nothin we can't manage. Some of it is running down the ceiling poles, lol. We're pretty staked down but maybe we won't go anywhere today so we can make extra sure our screen house doesn't collapse. I guess the worst of it is supposed to be today/tonite and then not so bad tomorrow. Looking forward to some sun on Saturday!!

Glad to hear the weather will be improving for you - sooner rather than later. Hang in there.

I just got off the phone with my GF who is camping in Q with her sister, and both are working at a restaurant there. She said the wind is bad and the rain is coming down sideway! There is water standing in the campground. How close are you two to the town of Q, do you know?

Also, since the usual crowds aren't showing up at Q, their jobs at the restaurant that was to go thru June will now end in March! She is scrambling to find work and is awaiting to hear from our Gov. on helping with doing the census. It pays $13.50 an hr and .50 a mile.

Hope everyone is staying safe and dry down there and on the west coast.

just got home from work and the wind has really kicked in! My little car was rockin all
over the road, I felt much better when I was in my bus. The bad wind started about 2:00.
Rain has been alot too but nothing out of the ordinary that I can see, but they are predicting
another 5" tonight and they told us to listen to the news tomorrow and see if they closed
school. I said, WHAT? CLOSE SCHOOL? for what? I guess morning will tell me for what.
I put in for the census job too, got a very good score and it will get me out of the debt
hole I'm in. I certainly hope I get the job, I have a good chance but I'm still praying.
Microwave just dinged so my dinner is ready. Kelly, you and Echo hang on and stay dry.

We left at about 2ish I think. Went to K-mart. Yup, expensive, lol. We walked around a bit. Grabbed water, dish soap, tp, tent stakes and as we were on our way up the registers the power kept flickering out. Looked outside and I don't know... Gale force winds and rain? Stuff I usually see on tv in the southern coastal regions. Power went out for good so we high-tailed it to the car. Dollar store wasn't letting anyone in and the Ranch Market was dark inside. Ended up at Albertson's. Got 4 jugs of water, dish soap, sweetener (couldn't find cheap sugar in a small container or packets for what I wanted to pay) and a bottle of soda. They were on half power so at least the cash stands were running, just no conveyor belts. Paid for my stuff and got back here asap.

Wind knocked over one half of the screen house but that was an easy fix. It got the vestibule again but that wasn't major either. The worst part was one of my side flaps on my tent fly came loose so a bottom end corner of my bed got wet. My floor along that wall is wet as well as my carpet and my rug next to my door. Luckily my blankets weren't in the spot that got wet so I should be able to keep warm and keep my feet dry as long as I stay away from that corner. Hope the sun comes out Saturday so I can hang things out to dry... Story of our lives, here, lol.

Ava, glad you made it home safe. Hope the weather isn't more than you can handle! And best of luck at getting the census job!

AlmostThere, hope your friend gets the census job too! We are about 25mi from Q. Have some standing water in our site but it's small puddles. The worst of it is on the lanes between rows of sites.

Sarah, we'll hang in there. Need to get more propane tomorrow and some more water. The power is out here but hopefully it will be back soon/in the morning.

I need to get off here. Our neighbor behind us, Mr. Damrau kindly offered to let us hook up to his rv for power. He will be shutting it off in about 10 minutes and my battery is not fully charged. I've been using this in the car and plugging it in there but I kinda drained the battery. Had to get a jump start.

Thank you all for all of your thoughts of us. Y'all are on our minds and in our prayers too! Someone save me some bagels in the morning!!!! I like onion or raisin, lol!
