I may finally get my RV back ...

The replacement channels for the bottoms of my dented bay doors have FINALLY arrived (Monaco, can you hear this?) after SIX WEEKS. Clay, my RV guy, says I should have my motor home back by .... (drum roll!) Friday!! This is the job that was supposed to be done by the 25th of October. When I get The Escape Capsule back, I then take it to another shop that will replace the rear-slide awning and install replacement parts for a recall on my fridge. After that, it's off to the Ford dealership for them to do recall work on the cruise control. And then it's mine, all mine!
I had wondered whether it was a good idea to have Clay contract out the body work, rather than taking it to a body shop myself. As it turns out, I wasn't satisfied with the shoddy work, so Clay refused to pay the guy. They have had a battle royale, with threats and everything. If it had just been me against that guy (or another body shop) ... he would have just kept my rig until he got the $$. Clay is having another, more trusted body shop complete the job. And he has been on the phone for weeks badgering the local Monaco dealer (which ordered the parts) and Monaco as well for those channels. So Clay has really earned his keep.
His shop did a long list of "honey-do's," from fixing my "pot drawer" (which would catapult across the kitchen floor when I turned right), to adding three new 12V plugs and an aftermarket cooling fan in the driver's compartment. He got rid of the "death rattle," installed the new floor (sigh) and he also re-sealed the roof. It'll be like a new rig.
Now if I can just get rid of those #!$&% mice.
