Elimination of Golden Age Pass campground benefits

This should concern all of us. The USDA Forest Service is proposing to eliminate Golden Age Passport benefits from all national forest concessionaire operated campgrounds. Nearly all developed NF campgrounds are run by concessionaires (private contractors). Is this the beginning of the end of Golden Age Passports? Currently they have a posting in the Federal Register (the required "public review" step before final action) stating reasons (justificatiions). Loosing this benefit continues to further the "pay to play" trend on public lands. The national forests are public lands and these campgrounds were developed with public monies. The benefitor of this action will the the contracted private concessionaires who manage public campgrounds.

Important for all of us to get involved. Read the Fed.Register posting; decide your position; and then comment on the Fed.Reg. and to your federal officials (congressionals, USDA undersectary, Forest Service Chief). If this action concerns you then please get involved by commenting to officials and forwarding this message to others who may be interested.

I've read either that article or another one just like it. I most certainly did comment on what they are thinking of doing. And about the greed and profit driven reason of the contractors.

I understand the need to make a profit. But the driving greed behind so many corps are sickening.
